Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

To be fair, the other "options" are mere teases at this point. Beastaster's looks GREAT - but it's his own private work unless he decides to sell it. One of the latest ones isn't available yet. In-hand I think there are still only two top options, BBKill and Inigou's.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Modern Life's Craig looks pretty good.
I'm interested at that Wolverine but I'm gonna wait til I see in hand pics.
Their Henry Cavill looks great unpainted, almost looks better than Hot Toys.
But once painted, I have yet to see one better than Hot Toys.
The head was also too skinny.

Probably could use some tweaking in the paint department, but I think that Hugh Jackman looks better than the Hot Toys version.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Can anyone get a shot of the Toys City Tux next to a DID Tux and possibly a Very Cool blue tux? :)

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

I've always been a big james bond fan, the classics are great and hopefully the bond legacy never dies. So when i was introduced to the SS james bond figures from about 10 years ago, i started to pick up a few. There are many that i don't have, i mainly focused on key villans and a couple of connery and moore, but to round out the set i picked up the quartermaster, Q.
He is a fanastic figure even for 10 years ago, and the likeness captured by sculptor matt falls is spot on. Even though the box he comes in states The spy who loved me, the accessories included with him are clearly from From russia with love. This inspired me to create a diorama highlighting that famous scene when bond receives his first gadget from Q, which is sometimes considered a moment in movie history. It took a couple of months to make, and overall i'm happy with how it came out.
Thought you guys might like to see a few pics. Enjoy. 20140928_171631.jpg20140928_172026.jpg20140928_172055.jpg20140928_172437.jpg

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Nice diorama,

At the time it came out, the SSC Connery Bond was good and there wasn't much else you could compare it to. Now though, things have changed. A Connery Bond done to the standards that are the norm today would be exceptional, though I fear it may only ever be a custom figure.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

This diorama is great, Raiders March. I think these custom heads I did, can serve for your diorama.

Thanks mate, yeah most of these bond figures look pretty basic in today's standard of high end collectibles. But back then they were a revolutionary breath of fresh air in an otherwise stale collectible market. Maybe they will be revisited, but my fear is the same as yours. Still, very cool for what they were and came with some excellent accessories

No worries,

I really don't know what it would take for Ms Broccoli to relent, she seems to have bigger cajones than anyone who approaches her. Gets it from Daddy I suppose.

I still kick myself for not getting dear old Q when I had chance to

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Now that the paintjob of the Modern Life sculpt seems to be as good as the likeness I look forward to the day I can just jam it on the neck post of a DID and have, finally, my ultimate Bond. In the meantime, what a pleasure to scroll back through these pages and see what you guys have managed to do with your various Craig customs- better than official releases would/could ever be...

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Yeah someone needs to make all the Bonds to todays 1/6 high standards. Personally no one can touch Connery's portrayal of Bond imo.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Wow, a Daniel Craig sculpt that actually looks like Daniel Craig. I guess 30th time was the charm.
