I was sceptical about the colour but seeing the in hand pics and reviews has changed my mind somewhat. Much like mms238 I guess you should always wait until you've seen the in hand pic's before passing judgement. Can't wait for the battle damaged version. That will be epic.

I haven't seen any one person being particularly OTT about the colour issue or the diecast issue. Yes there was a lot of discussion about it with a good few people chiming in but that happens. There's nothing wrong with it. Who are these people who have been so annoying? Lets name names :lol
Ha! To be honest, I'm not thinking of anyone in particular (which I guess might seem like a cop-out, but generally I put specific people on ignore for a while if I find them especially annoying). And it's kind of an aggregate thing across multiple threads, so one might read say 5 threads all with a bunch of complaints and then reach one's limit of not responding in a seemingly random one. :lol

To be specific about comments and RoboCop, my best example would be the multiple "for X amount of money, the figure should be X% die-cast". I just find that a really stupid comment. How would the figure being even more heavy = more value?[/rhetorical question] Not one person who actually has it in-hand has commented that they wish it was heavier.

As for victory or accomplishing anything, complaining about complaining is pretty pointless, but I figure not more so than a lot of other stuff posted here. It won't change anything but I can't keep my trap shut, sometimes. It's a work in progress...

I just ordered batteries for Robo.
Thought I ordered two, but got like ten.

Man, I'll be able to have him babbling for like a week without interruption. ^^

can you confirm that the faceplate was not on correct in the pic below(as alyd mentioned)
thanks!!!

These pics show it in correctly, I double checked it before I took them.

What is the battery that we have to get? Is it for the voice or is it for something else? I should probably order some in advance in preparation.

I think they're N Type 1.5V batteries. I think one? goes in Robo's back, that's for the voice function. I believe batteries are included for the remote but come separately for the chair, but Skull or Rorywan would know for sure.

Interesting. First batteries I'll be getting not in bulk, haha. I usually just buy AAA or AA packs from Costco. Thanks! :hi5:

That's them, but it takes two of them to power Robo:lecture

Comes with the watch battery's for the remote, but if you get the chair version, you will need 3 AAA Battery's

Needless to say, for the very reason they're not supplied with the figure, one should not keep batteries in the figure all the time. When they leak, you don't want it to be all over your expensive figure. Button cell batteries don't have this issue of course, which is why they can be supplied in packages and are used for long term things like watches and clocks :)

Button cell batteries don't leak?

Which kind are those, if I may ask? Mind as well get them along with the robocop ones. If you have a link for the good ones (I'm assuming Duracell or energizer?)

But the whole point is, this figure doesn't take button cell batteries, he takes the kind that leak - and that's why they're not supplied with the figure, as they don't want to risk leakage in the box. So all I'm saying is, don't put batteries in Robo and leave them in there :)

That's not the reason they didn't sell it with the batteries in it. Brand new batteries shouldn't be leaking.

One of the reviews mentioned specifically that HT didn't want to include these batteries because they were worried about them leaking months down the road, in stores and whatnot. Also, my understanding is that it's illegal to ship these batteries internationally if they are not sealed within whatever they power (which I'm guessing limits their use to rechargeable items only).

Invictus, I hope you know I seek no quarrel with you, or indeed anyone. In fact I would rather be friends with everyone here. We're all just talking about toys at the end of the day. We only differ in the extent to which we are willing to criticise such things. Respect!
