Re: RobertoBagg10's Display Thread 'NEW UPDATE' SSC IRON MAN MKVII LSF REVIEW PART 1

I think I would have rather received the other box first :)

:lol just aswell Dave as I have the second box in front of me as we speak ;)

Awesome news, Andy. Getting the first box in perfect condition kinda makes up for the 1:1 bust. Let's hope it all comes together ASAP and without any problems. Look forward to seeing the completed piece.

Thanks my friend :) haven't opened the second box yet and I'm pretty nervous to say the least! This is where it could all go wrong :(

Damn that LSF already looks smokin can't wait till you get the othet box.

Thanks Nick :hi5: Yea, I'm actually loving it so far...this is gonna look so cool once I have it set up with my Hall of Armour background :rock

That's some nice packaging, it looks great Andy :hi5: I think the darker red looks nice but I know how you feel when you are expecting a lighter red. Glad it arrived in good condition :)

Thanks Sean :) appreciate the feedback as ever bro :duff

Re: RobertoBagg10's Display Thread 'NEW UPDATE' SS IRON MAN MKVII LSF REVIEW PART 1 P

Sorry guys...I know it's taking ages but I'm literally opening the LSF one minute and smashing up the MKVII lifesize bust the next :lol :lol

Okay, I'm pretty certain I'm not gonna have time to assemble this guy this evening but the least I can do is to get pics up of what's inside the second box.

So....the base....disappointing? Yes! :( the base is so lightweight, if you can compare it to the base of the MKIII LSF which weighs a ton, it leaves you a little underwhelmed. The paint apps on this aren't worth jumping up and down about either. Very lacklustre effects and will certainly need repainting. Not even sure what this base is supposed to represent in the Avengers movie? Is it part of the flooring from Stark Towers? Any guesses? :dunno

Whether you can disregard this piece because of the base would be rather harsh in my opinion but it could and should have been so much better. If anything, I prefer the base we saw from the proto pics at last years Comic Con!

RobertoBagg10's Display Thread 'NEW UPDATE' SS IRON MAN MKVII LSF REVIEW PART...

Right, next is the Headsculpt and personally a real worry for me as in some pics it looked kinda orangy :horror

Okay, scare over cos the Headsculpt is really nice! If I was really nit-picking then I'd say a touch on the glossy side across the faceplate but that's neither here not there cos for me, the gold color is there and no orange whatsoever! It's a major relief to be honest as the head is where your eyes tend to focus on the most when feasting your eyes on this massive piece.

The eyes have a very cool blue tinge inbuilt inside the lens. I haven't had a chance to work the light feature yet but I'm guessing this blue tinge would be to recreate a bluish effect to the eyes, as they've done with the Arc Reactor...personally, I would have preferred a more whiter lens but again, we're talking abt personal preferences...overall I'm delighted at how the Headsculpt turned out :)

Re: RobertoBagg10's Display Thread 'NEW UPDATE' SS IRON MAN MKVII LSF REVIEW PART 1 P

Okay, we've come to the finale and the legs :) well first things first and I can happily say that I've received a mint condition LSF! Allelujah!! all that needs to be checked is the light feature so hopefully I'll get a chance to check that tomorrow. So the legs are just the finishing touch to what is now looking to be an amazing Iron Man statue! The paint apps throughout the armour is very consistent and the gold tones are just perfect! No noticable flaws such as runny paint, drips or overlapping...just a really great job!

So from what I've seen so far, this piece has definately won me over and I've still to assemble it altogether and switch on those lights! For those IM fans that are on still on the fence on whether this will be their first LSF, my opinion is that you WILL love it! You can't help but get excited about a collectible this big and it really does deliver. For those who are still waiting for it to arrive, I wish you all the best and that everything arrives in perfect condition for you :)

Yes, we've seen a few already who have returned theirs back to sideshow so of course everyone's opinion is different and to some, this piece doesn't live upto expectation but I can only call it as I see it and I think it's pretty much an awesome piece all round - minus maybe the base which could have been done better!

dude that world cup behind the hulk

where you get that and you got more pics?

Re: RobertoBagg10's Display Thread 'NEW UPDATE' SS IRON MAN MKVII LSF REVIEW PART 1 P

You never know bro! One day...you might decide that this will be your first LSF :rock :rock
Lol as much as I'd like one, first one will be a Vader, Batman or Spidey (odds are Vader cause its going to be the first one to come out). Also will hope that PCS makes a 1/3rd Batman so I won't have to drop $2k for it from SSC

Incredible review Andy!!! :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap
So great pictures, showing every details, WELL DONE!!!
I'm sooo glad you got yours in perfect condition (let's hope the lighting works too). You deserved to have a perfect mint and seems you've got it!!! :hi5:

But, like you, I feel kinda meh about the base (but seriously, who's looking at the base with a sculpt like that?), but apart from the arc, I'm wondering WHY THE GREY STUFF ON THE HELMET???

I've been trying to find the source in the movie media and couldn't find it at all???
Spoiler Spoiler:

And from movie screencaps:

Even the early design files SSC seems to have taken to do this LSF:

So... any idea why this? :stick

:lol back in the day (when Italy wont the World Cup back in 2006) I purchased maybe 5 or 6 lifesize World Cup Trophy Replicas to give to my members of my family as a gift to celebrate our victory :) I'm only left with one now, which you see in the picture. I get them already cast and I just repaint them myself...i'll try to get some better pics for you ;)

Yea, I'm desperate for a decent Vader in my collection. I had the original PF but never really liked the pose that much :( so I sold it along with the matching Obi Wan PF. If I do get the Vader LSF then I'm pretty sure I'd have to get Obi Wan aswell :horror

Hey Marc, thanks for the kind words bro :hi5: really appreciate it :) Yea, have to say its certainly a weight off my shoulders to finally have the entire statue and in fine condition too. However, I still have the moment of truth as to whether its a clean sweep as later on this evening I will assemble the MKVII and see if the light features work! :horror

Marc, your first pic you posted in regards to the grey area of the helmet doesn't work buddy :( so I'm not sure what you mean. The only thing I can see on the statue that had me questioning myself was the silver part of the faceplate and either side of the cheek. You see, on the LSF it's silver and on the lifesize bust its black :dunno

6asu2yhy.jpg

Still unsure as to what is the correct colour as i came across a picture taken from one of the actual MKVII suits used in The Avengers movie and you can clearly see that it is supposed to be silver...

y6a7u7y3.jpg

but from your pics you posted from the movie also, the colour is black :dunno Either way, if it is black then its a very simple fix ;)
