I did this real quick , it's okay for now

I'm trying something different with mine. Details and update within the next few days. :)

I got my Origins head. It's horrible. It's undersized, he has an orange spray tan, and it's just too soft. Don't buy it or wait for a second batch. Pictures tomorrow. I'm really bummed out.

DUDE! I totally forgot about buying your sculpt. :slap Is one still available?
Yours looks way better than the Headplay one ever will.

So it's really as bad as it looks in the photos. :(

Mine might arrive today.

Head Play Wolverine 1.0 sculpt and Origins clothes arrived earlier today.

Nervous opening the packet to see how bad the head was...

Prepared for the worst, I was actually pleasantly surprised. The colour is just a little more tan than the 'MMS220' I received from them. There's also a bit of shading, and highlights such as the cheekbones, nose and brow. Size is comparable to the 'MMS220' copy as well.

I don't have anywhere set up to take photos, and always struggle to present the best of any figure be it Hot Toys or bootleg, but here goes holding the head by the ball joint in the window to get some daylight:

The clothes look good, too.

Head looks good. Definite buy for me. Thanks for the hands on pic.

But so difficult to photograph!

I tried again with the dog tags and on a better stand:

It needs natural light, no flash...and a better photographer!

The clothes are really good. Looking at pictures of the original Hot Toys it's hard to tell them apart. Even the vest is made to the same design.

One giveaway are the silver studs to the right of the buckle which are only present on the HT.

Glad you like yours though! I guess I was just hoping for better quality and paint. I think having Rahmier paint 2 of my figures, I have too high of expectations.
I'm surprised to see you say it matched in size though. I'll post pictures later. Mine is noticeably smaller.

Wow! That looks great, Kuat! I came here to ask those who got the new custom Origins costume set if they find the quality decent enough, and seeing your post I got your answer! I guess I'll post an order and get me a set :)

I assume you also have/had the authentic HT Origins figure, Kuat?

I was looking forward to seeing the final product and order the new custom head as the proto blew me away. After reading your post a page back I felt glad that I waited til I see photos and read comments about it. I think the paintjob's okay, but not at par with today's standards (even compared to the other "custom" heads as of late!). Hopefully there'd be better batches.

Rahmier sets the bar very high! Head Play can't compete at that level. :wink1:

I'd imagine that there must be a quite a bit of variation with Head Play's painting as they knock these things out relatively cheaply, considering the price includes shipping and packaging.

When it first arrived I placed it face-to-face with the Head Play 'MMS220' copy, and it looked like a pretty good match for scale/proportions.

I never had the HT original - I can only judge by photos. The jacket, for example, appears to be exactly the same style with the same decorative stitching etc. But the material is shinier with a crackly, weathered finish. It looks good but I don't know if it will last as long as Hot Toys.

Everything fits fine on the body I got. The jeans were quite long so I put in the long ankle pegs, which is probably right for Jackman's height - a tall, lean Wolverine as opposed to the squat comic book one.

I think he has a lot of shelf presence for relatively little outlay (body, head and clothes cost a total of £67.47 delivered). He'll be even better when I finally receive my MMS220s so I can give him a spare pair of metal claws.

I see. Thanks for the info, buddy. Is the jacket made of pleather?

I don't think it's pleather, as it feels more like material than plastic. The light brown parts are a good imitation of suede and even feel soft like suede. Overall it has a realistic appearance. It's fully lined inside with black silk-like material.

I also presume the HT version was also faux leather, since it was described as a "brown jacket" and the belt described as "leather-like".

The belt on the Head Play is some kind material with a backing.
