This figure needs to arrive at bbts so I can ship my pile of loot and get Gurtiz and Gandalf in the house! I think Gandalg will fit in nicely with any repainted Sideshow figures. Sideshow figures without a repaint (except for the hobbits) will probably look really dated next to this figure.

I received Gandalf yesterday and set him up last night. Is he perfect, no. The shoulders are a little loose and there is no ankle articulation but do I like him? Hell yes, Its Gandalf! Asmus should be applauded for this coz there is a lot of detail in the costume that photos don't pick up and like Witch King his clothes are very layered and just need a little love. First thing I did was change his cradle so he stood a little better on his stand and i had a little trouble figuring out how to tie his sheath on but once I stuck that staff in his hand he looks great.

Yeah, I have tried but when I go to upload nothing happens, any advise?

Click on the picture icon and then click the "upload picture" button. It can be a little fussy. Make sure the images are not too large, that can be an issue with the upload process.

Great pictures, D..C... but got to say, I think a lot of the 'slim-faced' Gandalf is coming from macro warping. I mean look at this...

I'm gonna use this pose to hide the black-and-white vest.

Can someone who has this tell me what is under the vest? It looks like an embroidered something.

The black thatching is that thread or paint? There seems to be a lot of detail in the other garments as well. Can you snap a pic of him without the vest on? Also maybe in the post that Wor Gar mentioned?

It doesn't appear to be thread but I could be wrong. I have to redo the belt later so I will attempt to pose it as suggested, probably tonight.

I must say the shirt pattern and color is so good I can consider leaving him without the vest. Apparently Asmus followed the off-scale path of SSC Premium Format, making it worse with black print, silver sewing and unnecessarily grey fabric.

The silver embroidery doesn't seem too bad. The darker color around the collar area I think is what is throwing it off for so many. It looks like, and DC has mentioned it, that it doesn't look like thread. Looks like a dyed pattern. Not saying it's right but that's probably the reason it wasn't changed. Asmus probably had the fabric already made that way and it would have been cost prohibitive to change it. Anyone have thoughts on what would happen if the vest was bleached a couple of times?
