re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Who is Gus Lopez???
He's a super collector...like a poor man's Steve Sansweet, j/k. He also owns the original Death Star, probably one of the most significant piece in a private collectors hands. Also, he puts together collector events for the Star Wars Celebrations too...Star Tots ring a bell? I think he co-authored a book or two as well.

His Death Star display:

Of everything that he owns, this is what I'm most jealous of:

I was wondering the same thing? :dunno

I have no clue but I hate him and I'm jealous
I'm ashamed of you all... He's considered the 2nd biggest SW collector in the world, but he may actually have more film props than Sansweet...

Well. That's a screaming endorsement to go on Ken's next big field trip. Is Gus one of the guys we were considering visiting? :lol

That's just stunning.

Yea funko! Cough cough. :panic:

From what I've heard that in order to get the movie made Brooks had to agree to NEVER license anything from the film including the figures.

From what I've seen, Gus' collection is in his whole house. I highly doubt he'd just let a traveling band of misfits into his home. :lol

I have finally procured myself a vintage B-Wing pilot blaster. My last need of replacing my R2 is, thankfully, going to be much easier than hunting down that blaster.
Good to hear man! Sorry I've been so flakey on getting ahold of that one dealer for ya.

No worries man. The fact you took the time was helpful in itself. However, if you happen to come across a vintage R2 (solid chrome top) with a vintage sticker in good shape, let me know. My current one has a replacement sticker, so this is my final piece in the hunt.

No. Although I know Gus, I don't know him that well. I'm working on that! Duncan Jenkins, who co-wrote all of the books with Gus, is the one I know. He also has an impressive collection with many film props and things that would give us instant stiffies. His entire house is Star Wars as well. His wife, Anne, also loves Star Wars, which helps immensely. She makes awesome SW jewelry that she gives away at every Celebration. I would love to be Gus or Duncan! But I'll just settle for visiting their awesome collections...
