Yeah I agree. There are a few things the SE improved upon, and that was one of the things. I will take ian McDermaid as the Emperor every time if I can.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

That's a cool idea. :duff

It is, but i bet fanboyz would freak the **** out and want a back-story to where Luke lost his saber! LOL. Speaking of, i wonder if JJ will introduce new colors in the movie or keep it old school.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

nah, the design of clone helmet was cool, it had that old serial rocketeer look to it. This doesn't seem to reference anything except modern sic-fi.

I didn't mind that so much. It was ROTS that really took the piss, as if we needed a further phase of development to know that that armour was gonna become the stormtrooper armour of the OT. Had to maximise the toy potential of course.

I just shut off ROTS at the 21 minute mark, I couldn't take it anymore. :lol

I can't make it through the opening space battle/palpatine rescue sequence. Every **** up of Phantom Menace rolled into one sequence with the knowledge that it will only be compounded later by some bull$h!t of ROTS's own brewing. Why bother continuing. Worst film of the lot for me. Yeah I said it.

How frustrating when a youtube clip doesn't actually finish the quote....damn......'take it ba-'

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

I love ROTS. Sure, there are clunky moments but I love the opera scene and the scene where the Jedi try to arrest Palpatine, but especially the Order 66 and Mustafar sequences...they're pure Wars.

:exactly: :exactly:

I keep thinking that as time passes I will warm up to it.

Nope. :lol

Just the opposite is happening, what I had isolated as good parts no longer hold up either.

Personally I quite enjoy a lot of ROTS. There is nothing downright horrible in it (AOTC 3PO I'm talking about you). It's like a big dark cartoon.
I love the music, really really love the music. I thought McGregor was at his best in it as Obi, but one scene makes the entire movie for me.

The scene where Anakin and Padme are standing at the two windows on Coruscant with that great arabic music of foreboding playing. As the sun goes down, we know it's all over from here on in. Best scene of the entire PT IMO, it actually has depth, emotion and tremendous atmosphere. If only there had been more of that.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

Yeah, that's cool.

..but nothing horrible about ROTS though? How about the Palpatine zapping Windu sequence, or the office scene where he does a couple of geriatric twirls, & liquidates multiple Jedi.. or how the Jedi are actually sleepwalking through the entire PT? :lol

It's all relative? After the arena battle and droid factory, everything else seemed like Kubrick.

I really like the prequels. For completely different reasons than I love the OT.

I'm not an all or nothing type of person. I can watch Clone Wars, The Xmas Special, god even Rebels, which looks worse than anything I've seen so far.
They don't tarnish the OT for me. Nothing will.

I enjoyed far too many things in the PT to ***** about them as a whole, the music, the design, some of the performances.
I just enjoy them for what they are.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

I thought you were the film scrutineer extraordinaire - defending ROTS doesn't align with that very well.
Jye watchin Bayformers two times in a row then tries to bash ROTS. I'm seriously sorry for his loss of intelligence :monkey3
