Yondu spinoff, please. Possibly teaming with Howard the Duck. They could cruise the countryside conducting home invasions and murdering whores and whatnot. . .oh wait, that was a different Rooker character, wasn't it? But still, it's an idea Marvel. If you want to run with it, a simple thanks in the credits will be enough for me.

Let's me and you go for a ride, Howard.

Ok then let's call it, Guardians of the Galaxy 2: The Return of Yondu

Rooker playing an awesome blue alien isn't even close to my favorite part of a movie.

Well, Gunn said thousand times that he doesn't like Nova.
And I can't see them making him or Namor considering that DC/WB definitely gonna reboot GL and introduce Aquaman.

And George used to say the guy in my sig was dead:dunno Point is, things change all the time and a lot can happen in the three years we wait for part 2. And the head honcho's in Marvel will ultimately be the decision makers.

Richard Rider > GL Corp

You think Marvel will stay away from characters that have parallels in DC? I would think they would go after those, for the purpose of making a point about how Marvel can handle them better, if nothing else. With as little as we saw of the Nova Corps, they're a lot more compelling than the GL Corps in their movie IMO. I actually sort of expect a humiliation of the Squadron Supreme after the JL movie comes out.

Making almost the same character is a big risk since these are big budget movies for the big audience and not comics.
They did GotG because it's unique and fresh for the casual viewer.

and they'll definitely have room to branch out more after Avengers 2 makes 2bn

My guesses for Star-Lords dad:

1. Captain Mar-vell
2. Adam Warlock
3. Quasar

Long shot - Star-Fox

Couple pages back we were talking about this because James Gunn said that the comic character's father is NOT (J'son or whoever-it-is-now after Star-Lord's origin retcons) the same as the MCU character's father.

Honestly, Star-Fox has the best odds in my opinion. The MCU Peter Quill's personality matches Star-Fox's personality to a 'T'...mainly due to his womanizing and crazy "Eternal" playboy antics. Plus, it gives Eternal blood to Quill and "explains" how he can handle the power of an Infinity Gem. It also makes the "quest" for the Guardians that much more personal since Thanos would be Quill's uncle.
