Again, at the $799 price it is an absolute steal. Even at $1000 it's a great deal and half of what SS would charge with less quality. It just shows how much profit SS builds into their products. Look at the R2-D2/C-3P0 PF. It is $50 less, a lot smaller, and one of them is made of plastic.

If anything, LoD is an iconic figure, and that is enough for most of us, even if we don't care about the movie.

1/3 is smaller than 1/2 scale...big volume difference

That depends on the size of the character itself too a 6ft guy would be 3ft if 1/2 scale. LOD is 3ft 4 inches. He's a big mofo. SS would no doubt charged more than Popc if they used the same materials

Mark my words, people (including the ones bashing this now) will end up kicking themselves for not ordering this. Everyone is always complaining about edition size, and collectibles not being collectible.... always wanting larger scale, and a non rotocast fully sculpted piece of amazingness... and now that one finally hit the marked at almost 40" and under $1000.00, 1:3 and mixed media, AND only 150 made world wide... they pass on it.. i don't understand the collecting world.

I will never regret not ordering this. When I first saw it I couldn't figure out what (I thought) was wrong with it, except it was something about the pose. And then someone showed me this:

If I had it on my shelves I simply wouldn't see The Dark Lord, I would see Travolta.

Congrats to those who love and got it. To me that pose is hopeless.

He's 38 inches to the top of his staff. If you actually look at the figure from heel to top of his head not including the horns he's probably the same size as the galactus maquette. The Legendary scale Darth Maul is 40 to the top of his head. The Legendary Scale Doom is 50 inches. Its a big difference.

This is accurate 1/3 scale for the character. A typical human would be 24" tall, while something that is 8 feet would be 32". The statue clocks in at 38" from bottom to tip of spear, so there's definitely at least 32 inches of Darkness (probably his nickname in high school -- zing!). With half-scale being 36", this isn't totally incomparable.

Well, I own the 1:1 bust, the LSB & PO'd the 1/3 PCS. So I wanted to pick up the PF, which I did. I have to say, I'm really not happy with this thing at all. Just looks very poorly made. Now I'm really looking for the 1/3 because it's going to **** on the SS PF. I'm not referring to the size either. I'm referring to the attention to detail.

That's a custom piece to your specifications, I understand that, this is a piece that a company is producing, That, with the size chart I put up, isn't worth, to me at least, much more than Galactus.

Yeah but a custom at that size would cost more than Galactus right? Like a custom 1/4 goes for like $700 to $1200 depending on the work right? Like look at XMs 1/4 pieces as an example and they're not even custom jobs

And I think XM is way over priced. Of course a custom piece is more expensive, they're mostly made by people who have to buy the supplies at retail rates. They don't buy in that much bulk to where they get a discount like these companies can. Also, when it comes to casting and other elements, the artist either does it himself, which takes time or pays someone to do so, which costs money, either way they aren't outsourcing it to China where the labor is cheaper.

Point being, I wasn't keen on paying $1000 for him, why would I pay $1600 when for $400 more I get that amazingly huge Doom legendary scale that dwarfs it?

Lol true. But you wouldve paid only 800 if you bought him fully. Yeah I also think XM is overpriced but what can you do. Just saying that some money is second to exclusivity and great quality

That's the thing though, I don't have $800 to just give them this month. Now, if he had been $800 and I could have flexed him at that price, More than likely, I'd have done it. But I wasn't into paying $200 more just because, to me that feels like I'm being cheated out of $200, which is half another PF. It sucks because I like him, but I'm good with the decision.

Exclusivity to me is just an excuse people think they can use for owning these. Someone comes over, see they have a bunch of Comic stuff and they're over 25 years of age and they go "Well I own that because there's only 100 in the world", no, you own it because your a geek and like Costumed hero's and horror/fantasy Movies, quit trying to make excuses and be who you are. :rotfl
