XM has stated that they have already talked to Marvel and these statues are a go (with the exceptions of the ones they listed), unless you have some evidence like a wire tap in Marvel's head office I'm going to take XM's side on this one....

Nope, not an IP lawyer, but I have a bunch of buds who are freelance artists who work in and around the comicbook industry. So I learned an aweful lot from them. Everything I said above is how it works. You defend your rights or risks losing them. It is how it works. Now do I know what is goin on at Marvel... Nope. What I am saying is what could happen, not what will.

Could've sworn this was the Thanos thread, and not related to an X-Men license issue that was already clarified by XM. Avengers have no issues from any licensing issues with regards to films as it is a Marvel owned property so to speculate that it is under threat to be cancelled is just that, needless speculation.

The moment a licensing pissing match starts you can NEVER be sure if something will be released. Whole movies have been shelved after being finished. Never to see the light of day. I hope to hell it doesn't happen to this Mags and Wolverine seeing as everyone are so in love with them, but it doesn't matter if Disney and Marvel approved it if Fox is going after the line. They can issue a C&D even after production has started, and the production would just have to stop. There is even the issue that they might HAVE to issue the order in order to protect their rights to the property. Do you really think Disney likes going after daycares with pictures of Winnie the Pooh on the walls? Nope, but they have no choice but to protect their property rights once they know about an infraction or risk losing them. So Fox may have no choice. It isn't cool and it isn't right, but it can happen.

Totally agreed, and before people start even going further, while I don't know much myself, but my sister (a lawyer) has mentioned that this stuff tends to happen a lot. You'd honestly be surprised as to how much movies, games, toys and such get balled because of license disputes.

Not against XM (why would I have ordered the BW, and currently trying to locate a Cap, if I truly was against it), I'm saying it's a reality check. Bryan and all the dudes at XM are chill, and I am almost 100% sure nothing goes down against it, and that all is good, but right now a lot of people are in the hype and aren't even aware that stuff like this could fall down.

I work in gaming, and this **** happens all the time, I've even had to deal with this **** in my store. Probably a good 6 or 7 disputes in the last 5 years, and maybe a good 4 of people having to come in. Just saying, you don't need to be a lawyer to know this ****.
