I think sometimes with bloggers, they try too hard to take the perfect pictures. Professional setups, lighting, etc. That's why I like to see actual customer photos and reviews. I was thinking about cancelling her. What prevented me was she really is a good figure, HS aside. Not to mention I have the Avengers version and will likely get AOU version. Why not have a line o BW's like I have with Cap. Although I don't have the IM2 version.
Then I saw Guyver's pics. They make me really excited for this figure. She will look great with Stealth Cap HS, and Falcon HS. I just hope Winter Soldier turns out great. The whole line will be perfect.
Besides the the eyes, yes the face a little wide and square, but they actually got ScarJo's mole, that's detail.

You're absolutely right that some of the pictures out there are a little too perfect to make accurate judgments from. I have experience with this: I wanted a Hit Girl sixth-scale figure. Medicom made one, and another company made an unlicensed knockoff. Medicom's bore no resemblance to Chloe Moretz but was rather a sort of anime-inspired caricature. The knockoff, however, looked great in all the photos I saw. Perfect even. Then I bought it and saw it for myself.

It still looked great except for one crucial detail. The skin tone on the face was much too dark. She looked like she had spent a long time in a tanning booth and it just looked wrong for a figure based on a blonde girl with pale skin like Chloe. The skin tone issue wasn't detectable at all in the pictures I saw, because the photographer had employed dramatic lighting to highlight the figure, which also served to make the skin look much lighter. In the end I had to pick up a Kumik Chloe headsculpt and pop that on top of my Hit Girl figure.

These days I take all the super professional looking photo threads with a grain of salt, and instead pay more attention to the pictures posted by people who don't look like they're shooting in a photo studio. Live and learn.

The eyes (deer in headlights) are the only thing that bothers me in close up photos, but I think actually looking at her on display on a shelf they won't be so prominent. Still can't wait to her, and kick off my HT TWS collection!:yess:

Got my 14 day notice as well. This will be my first female character and first rooted hair figure.

Same here....I' haven't ordered a HT female character before and as for the rooted hair...well, some of the shots that have appeared in here are looking pretty good so I'll see for myself soon enough...

Damn another figure this month for me. Already have the Iron Patriot and the Mark XLII coming this month. I think I'll keep her though.

Here's my take

The GOOD:

The Suit: It is such a great looking suit very sleek and fits the female TT body like a glove. The black gives me the Jedi Luke feel to it. It is very photogenic for being a subtle flat black color material :clap

The texture is nicely done.

The Hair: Believe it or not I like the versatility of this rooted hair, it's more manageable then the Avengers, partly due to the length, but it also gets less tangled because of the style. I pretty much twisted, tucked back, bounced ,etc the hell out of it and it still maintains the full body feel of the hair.

Accessories: I actually prefer the gun holster and design to the Avenger's version. It actually shines better against the uniform and the top belt design is beautifully accented :clap. The Glock pistols are pretty much identical to the Avengers so there isn't much of a difference Imo.

The Willow stinger gauntlets and gloves or whatever it's called are accented in a brighter blue. The gauntlets are a shadow thicker than the Avengers but still adequate.

The Boots are nicely sculpted and I prefer the cleft from the top of the boots of this piece to the Avenger's boots. The

THE BAD:

This is the issue with the HS. It's actually not bad, I still think it's a more accurate likeness to Scar than the Avenger's hs. Not kidding IMO. The problem is although they got the color right for her eyes in the greenish hazel color the texture around the color is too bright and glossy which adds the bugged out look IMO. the mouth expression wasn't necessary so when the glare from the eyes mixes with the mouth expression you get the " Stoned " effect expression. The flat darkish lipstick does not fit with the open mouth either.

Flat boring statue straight on standing still is probably not the best to display her. My advice put her in a movement pose with face turned to the side or looking other than straight ahead to capture the best likeness of Scar as Widow IMO .

It is such a nuisance because the rest of the figure is designed beautifully. It even stands out more than any of the previous attempts HT has done with the idea of BW IMO.

Articulation: With such a strong representation to a form fitted outfit for this figure, it takes on a extreme sacrifice which I'm very disappointed with :gah::gah:

The shoulders are as posable as any TT, however because of the tightly knitted outfit the shoulders can't and I repeat..CAN'T raise above her head, so the whole Widow jumping and slashing technique might not be achieved for the full effect. This by far is a buzz kill and puts the avenger's suit slightly ahead IMO.

That's as far as you can raise the arms frontal wise guys

Also front leg movement is extremely difficult due to the textured suit as well as full knee bending and torso twist. These options were just not designed well for this figure IMO. :slap

However doing the splits on her is achievable like all previous widow versions, not a problem. The arms themselves have free moving joints as wells don't worry, it's just a real shame the legs are heavily restricted.

Still, as a whole figure design, it is my favorite representation of a movie Widow thus far. It's all about her suit with this and when you hold the figure in hand it gives off a solidly look and feel to the TWS concept. I don't mind the lack of shoulder and leg articulation this time around.

But you be the judge, I can only assume the AOU version might be the crowning jewel in HT's form, but for now I'm a firm believer that at this point in time if you have to get one representation of Scar portrayed as BW. I would get TWS version, even with the vague expression. There is no doubt in my mind that if this version had a better expression than this would be a timeless piece to own, but compared what I've see so far in a BW WS figure, this is hands down a collectible piece :lecture

I'm curious to see the custom hs for this, so it should be interesting

Here's a comparison shot with a custom hs

And a Avenger's HT sculpt I tweaked a little long ago

The problem I had with the tweaking was that HT had the wrong color eyes for the Avenger's sculpt, a sort of flat medium brown which isn't Scar's natural eye color at all IMO. So could never get the look in the eyes when tried to paint them accurately :slap

I also thought the Avengers hs hair was a tangled mess

Like I said as the figure as a whole is a nice piece to own :lecture

Again my favorite accessory set up on this version

Back side..super texture IMO

I love the padding on the arms and shoulders :clap

Despite the shoulder restriction above her head, I'm happy I can still pose her shoulders this way

More pictures to come..

BTW, I also got my SS notice so my second WS version will be upcoming.. Maybe I might transplant the hair from this onto one of my Scar custom hs, or maybe do a Natasha civilian idea hmmm. :wink1:

One closing thought, my views are strictly based on pics of widow I've seen in TWS form. Unfortunately I missed watching this film in the theater so I can't be 100% sure this figure is accurate in the outfit. I'm not even sure how many scenes she had with this outfit on because I saw many pics of widow in civilian clothing.

Rest to sure, I will be pining for the blu ray release.
