I would totally be down for a Figuarts Darkwing Duck!

You can use a little Dull Coat (Cote) spray if you want to bring the glossiness down on the hair. Just make sure to cover up the rest of him if you spray and test it on something first. I used dull coat back in the day when I customized G.I. Joe figures and it worked well for "sealing" a lot of paint on figures as well.

Thanks for the recommendation . I wasn't sure if I would like the gloss paint, but it actually doesn't bother me. I would prefer flat paint, but I don't think its worth the trouble.

Other game based Figuarts would be great honestly like Resident Evil, since Hot Toys have made the only recent good figures. NECA's were barely articulated, they only added actual articulation in the 5 line, too little too late after they did the first RE and RE4.

Picture time! Redid my displays, still have a couple figures to pose although I don't know where they will go...

My take on the shot from the end of the US DBZ opening:


Trunks vs. Cell:


Goku vs. Vegeta display:


I think I got Vegeta's pose from the Saiyan saga down pretty good. Goku's pose is much harder to achieve with these figures, especially since the source has some wonky proportions going on.

Goku's problem with that pose is probably how he's crouching and leaning forward. I don't think the Figuarts could really achieve that with its torso articulation. But great poses blogness! :

Like I said, they're cheap, and their primary market is Japan who loves chibi figures.

So I'm a goof and have ordered 2 extra Cells in the last two days. $65 shipped for each of them too. I may open them and do a 3x Cell display of him attacking in different poses, but I think I'm gonna keep atleast 1 MISB.

I feel bad, I found 3 (1 from a member of another forum, 2 on a website) and was contemplating buying all 3, but then when I decided to just get 2, I was gonna tell everyone here about the website after I got mine, but by then there was just the one left. If I realize having 3 is insane, I will definitely offer one of them up here. I will certainly be keeping two. I'm gonna try and hang onto to 1 of every release MISB from now on. I will just need to think about the benefit of having two displayed... 3 displayed makes sense to me because of the action sequence stuff I have in my head. Two doesn't make as much sense though.

I have doubles of all my Figuarts and though I had to pay a little more for a few of them (Cell, Frieza, Scouter Vegeta, etc.), I'm pretty satisfied! But I can't bring myself to pull the trigger on Trunks, Gohan and SSJ Vegeta. 'm holding out hope for those re-issues!

Yeah... I bought a scouter vegeta for $100 and figure I'd pay about $80 for a second one. Offered that to someone on ebay, maybe it'll go through. No way I'm buying a second trunks or sdcc gohan though, unless it comes in a decent deal on a lot, which sometimes they do. There was a listing that ended very quickly a few days ago for MISB Trunks and SS Vegeta that was $300 or $350. Insane that it seemed like a decent deal lol.

For a second I think "OK, I should grab an SS Vegeta for 150-200 if I can find it"... then I realize that is a Hot Toy price! But then again, these figuarts represent their on screen counterparts every bit as well as most hot toys. Screw this hobby.
