I still get a huge buzz out of my MMS117.

The anticipation for certain things is of course more often than not the best part.

If that's the high point of this hobby going forward though - especially with HT' QC turning green.. a huge pic folder might indeed be the best kind of collection. :monkey1

Yup.

Man, the more I think about it, the best part of this hobby for me is when the pics go up. Even my favorite releases that I have in my collection DX 09 or DX 13, in person, aren't as special as when they popedp up online for the first time. "Finally, a Battle Damaged T2!" "Will they improve the headsculpt?" "Will Batman's belt remain gold?". From the time the specs/pics go up to OMG, Luka, etc. final product pics go up is more fun than unboxing and worrying about deterioration, breaking something and if I paid too much. I think Police Shootout and Die Cast Robocop are going to be my last Hot Toys figures. Those two might be a good way to end it. I started collecting Hot Toys with MMS 02 hamburger face, maybe I should finish it with his older 2.0 bro.

Maybe they should start charging us for seeing prototypes and preorder pics. :lol

:lol

Good to know our toys are bio-degradeable within 3 months isn't it? I appreciate the environmental concerns Hot Toys are showing.

And the prototype pic collection is a heck of a space saver.

Although it's one of my all time faves, I've had thoughts about selling my DX09.. I know, seems a bit much.

I would've much preferred they did the suit like it actually was supposed to be; an under suit with body appliances. If someone out there manages to release a nice version as mentioned in the future, DX09 might be on borrowed time.

However as Difabio said earlier, HT likely had to jump through a thousand hoops just to get the 1/6 license in the first place.. so pigs flying & all that. :lol

I'm not at the point yet where just looking at pictures is my favorite part of the Hot Toys experience, but I have to admit that's what happened to me with Sideshow statues. I was always so deathly afraid of them arriving damaged. These days I'm out of the statue hobby--Sideshow cancelled my Cortana grail statue so that was it for me--and these days I just look at the pretty pictures.

I plan on posing the crap out of all my 1/6 figures so I hopefully don't become bored with them. Lots of superhero fight scenes coming up. Lots of flight stands will be used. Superman is calling Thor out.

Yeah, getting most of the enjoyment out of anticipation is a perfectly natural and common human reaction. In general, people want to want things, if you know what I mean. You sense of smell is much stronger and more sensitive than the sense of taste....your brain takes more enjoyment out of you smelling your dinner than you actually eating it.

Aren't you talking about the Origins suit with the separated armor pieces on an undersuit? The AA / AC suits seem a lot more one-piece with clear seams at sections, but no gaps with a visible undersuit (unless you're talking about the layers that show when it gets damaged).

I think he's talking about the DX 09 '89 suit.

I absolutely love the DX09 though… such a classic character. I would never ever sell that one!

Vinti, how much would you sell the DX09 for?

I still think it's be fantastic if HT revisited the 89 Batman. The DX 09's still a stellar figure, but, objectively speaking, there's still some room for improvement. It'd be nice if they made one with the fabric undersuit, interchangeable BD parts, and faceplates that actually were flush with the cowl. Hell, pack it in with Bruce Wayne, Alfred, and the vault from the Batcave.

Yeah, I'd be behind that - even if they just made the suit as it was intended, & ditched the rubber.

Penguin will probably be the most overpriced of the bunch :lol

ooh Catwoman though :drool
