How much was Jabba???

You could give Vader spare hands...lightsaber...uhhhh...I can't think of much else...

What the hell would the exclusive be then???

In my opinion the first Vader will either be ROTS of ANH.

ROTS because it will be the reveal Vader they can (kind of) afford to make mistakes on so that the ROTJ will be an improvement.

ANH because it will be the easiest Vader to do.

How is this thread still going??!?!?!? I hate to see what happens when we finally get our Vader from SSC. This site will probably crash for good.

My guess is ANH Vader will be first, Sidehow's been developing the ANH crew strongly and I think they, I do, will see the ANH Obi-Wan - Vader pairing to be the most pivotal one they could generate, with ESB Luke-Vader and then ROTJ Luke-Vader following suit. I want ANH, I care more to have Ben and Vader together than the father and son pairing.

I agree with you Sean. Obi-Wan's Jedi Remote, ANH Leai Han and Luke. I am getting strong ANH Vader vibes for SDCC this year. I think we may see a Stormie before then though.

I would think we might see Biker Scouts before Stormtroopers even, for 2 reasons. 1) The Endor Troops could use some opposition, and 2) they require less armor elements than a Stormie.

The real issue to me is the body. They may be ready to do armor now, but the base body needs to be better for those characters. jointed necks like HT and Medicom have are a necessity to me. The current SSC lineup hasn't featured and character, but for Maul, where an articulated neck would make a big difference, but characters like the Fetts and Stormies will have much cooler looking display poses if you can bend their neck properly for aiming poses and such. It's a combination of effective ability to create high quality, cost-efficient armor and producing a new body better suited to future characters, especially armored ones. I think that's why it's taking so long, as others have said, how long can it take to figure out armor, not necessarily this much, but make armor and have a better body, that's time consuming.

It's only been a long time without armor if you get hung up on those types of characters. I love Darth Vader and I want one from Sideshow, but I've been enjoying everything we've gotten over the last few years, they're fine products, cool characters, and I've built a beautiful collection and when I look at it all together, I see a great gathering of beautiful figures, it never crosses my mind who is or isn't in the mix.

That's my thought as well. I've enjoyed the touching on other characters outside of the nromal few we see from Hasbro. In the end this collection I think will be something special because SS is doing or trying to do characters that are outside the box.

Yep. Quite a nice variety of SW stuff so far. We have a freakin' Jabba and a holochess set for cryin' out loud. How cool is that?

I know. I want Vader, Clones, Stormies, etc as bad as the rest but I'm quite happy to have the collection we have going. Plus I guess since I buy Medicom's SW stuff I'm ok with the pace SS is going at. In the end I know my SW collection will kick ass with all the SS and Medicom items in it. :rock

From the newsletter last year

"We do have plans to bring our own Star Wars armored characters to the market in the next couple of years-Perfection takes time after all. In the meantime, we are proud to offer some of these fabulous overseas collectibles to our U.S. customers, so you don't have to pay import and international shipping fees!"

"Perfection takes time"-thats the reason stated.

End of thread.

Get yourself a Bad boy Hurricane Vader !

If your not gonna pay Medi because all their figures are short arses

Then get one of Glenns !

Not only will you have a great Vader but yours will have a light up cathode sabre and be very very limited !

SS wouldnt do any worse than getting hold of Glenn and getting his construction stuff ! I mean imagine a Vader Exclusive with a cathode sabre !

Oh I plan to, come tax time. Not sure on the cathode sabre yet though. As a rule, I avoid toys with electronic internals. they tend to break on me, every time. The last thing i'd want is that curse to spill over into something as wonderful as a Glenn Vader.

That's the direction I'm anticipating Josh. I don't know if you have the Boushh figure or not, but if you feel the shoulder armor compared to your HT Colonial Marine gear, they're quite similar in how rigid and firm they are, and yet surprisingly the pieces are light weight. I'm with you in the idea that it'd be nice for armored figures to really feel, not just look, armored, like the Colonial Marines who feel like they could actually go into little 1/6 battle and survive a beating because they're protected.

I think you would loose some mobility if you used hard armor.Stormtrooper figure's have way more armor than a Colonial marine. The colonial's use straps half way around the the leg an the other ha;f is armor.I can't see SS using straps on the StarWars figure's unless it's for the knee and elbow armor, but then it would have to be the kind of rubber straps that HT uses on their Preds..I think if SS used hard armor, thier figure's would end up being more of what HT's figure's are, posable model kits.

I kind of like that your able to reposition the armor up,down, left or right on the legs and arms of the Medi figure's.It gives them more posablity

Besides SS didn't use hard armor on their plastic Boba PF and I don't know if thier going to do the same on thier Biker Scout.I geuss we'll find out when he comes out.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this option yet:

What if each rendition of Sideshow's Vader contained a voice-chip with specific lines from that rendition's film? Just some examples:

ANH:

1. -Vader Breathing- (All versions should have this, of course!)
2. "You are part of the Rebel Alliance and a traitor! Take her away!"
3. "I was but the learner. Now I am the master."
4. "I find your lack of faith disturbing."
5. "Don't be too proud of this technological terror you've constructed. The ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force."

ESB

1. "You don't know the power of the dark side."
2. "Luke, you can destroy the Emperor. He has foreseen this. Join me and together we can rule the galaxy as father and son."
3. "Luke, I AM your father."
4. "The Force is with you young Skywalker, but you are not a Jedi yet."
5. "What is thy bidding my master"

RotJ

1. "You may dispense with the pleasantaries commander I am here to put you back on schedule."
2. "You underestimate the power of the dark side. If you will not fight, then you will meet your destiny."
3. "Obi-Wan has taught you well."
4. "You were right. You were right about me. Tell your sister... you were right."
5. "Obi-Wan once thought as you do. You don't know the power of the dark side! I must obey my master."
