I don't know about that. Wampa and environment would be pretty expensive. Can't see a Wampa at less than $400.00+ (if it's polystone -- if articulated, I would guess more) and an environment at $250.00 - $300.00. Remember everyone thought R2, 3PO and Chewie were just around the corner when they released the Dejarik holochess set eons ago. I don't think Luke having a scarred face means anything in regards to a Wampa/environment release (especially since it's an exclusive -- you'd think if they were gearing up for the Wampa, the scarred face would be a part of every Luke set).

Amazing indeed. Yet, i'm still very disappointed Sideshow didn't bother including a soft hat to go with the hatless head.

So can we be less worried about paint with SS this time? (i have not bought a SS figure in a long time) But the TPM Obi looked funky.

The Anakin head has good paint. Certainly light years beyond some of those old horror shows. If Han and Luke come like that I will be happy. From pics Malgus looks good too.I thought you bought the new Vader? Or were you just thinking about it?

I am curious to see the paint on this figure as well. I am not a collector of PreQual figures and I was not impressed with the most recent Obi Wan. Nothing against the character, the paint seemed to "sanitized" if that makes sense.....too perfect in an unrealistic way.

Agreed light years ahead of past products, but still not up to snuff with DID< or HT. I really cant understand why considering its most of the same factories, and employees making the figures for each company.

Sideshow knocked it out of the park with the ROTJ Vader, I love the figure, and I felt the Snowtrooper was a great release. Human character is not Sideshows strong suit.

I guess we will wait and see.......if they are as good as the prototypes then I will be very happy.

Prolly cuz they know the actual production paint won't look as good as the prototype as usual. (see Nathan Drake)

The production paint seldom looks as good as the final product from all companies in all medias. We all know that.

I dont fault SS for that soley. I will say they need to step up thier game on human liknesses and detail. I was hoping to see some production factory samples for this and Han Solo to see if they have improved upon their last releases.

The Nathan Drake figure I cant really comment on as I have not followed that thread. I am sure that the Drake release would be no different than others.

Keeping my fingers crossed on this release, and potential for Hoth Solo, and the newly announced Red 5 Luke figure being shown at SDCC!

I'm not a fan of their new 3-part head sculpt process, personally. Makes the hairline over defined and seems very prone to distort the face. Hoth Luke and Han have the benefit of having a lot of headgear, at least. All the same, glad I decided to cancel Luke/Han/Tauntaun and narrow my focus on Hoth to Imperials-only, so that I can save some space for other stuff coming down the line. Still curious how these will come out, but I'm less optimistic than I was before seeing Drake and portraits like Echo and Fives.

Precisely the same worries I have. I'd like to order them, but I knew I'd be waiting until after they're released anyway, so fingers crossed.

It's called Bait & Switch and it's falsely misleading the consumer that they are buying the product shown when the reality, as we know, is very different.

It's not really bait and switch when the product is still in prototype form and they update their photos to production pieces when the item goes on sale. In the case of pre-orders this can get tricky with timing, but it's always possible to cancel - or wait until the product is released before purchasing.

Oh really?

Oh really?

In this case I will agree with you because they've released the figure but have not updated their photos to show the production figure. The prototype has a completely different head and hair sculpt. And while I know the production figure doesn't look as bad as that photo (I looked thoroughly through the thread a few weeks ago), it's still inexcusable to be showing prototype pictures after a figure's release.
