Disappointed that no one recognised the movie quote in my post above. Although, it was an edit, could have been missed.

Anywho, really looking forward to the Queen now that we've seen her. Not sure what I'll do with the McFarlane one once I've got NECA's in hand.

:lol

This is true.

Carter J. Burke what a slime ball.

When I met Paul Riser at the Calgery Con, I told him I could never enjoy his comedy rolls because all I could see was Carter J. Burke. In my head, it was a compliment! The expression on his face had me thinking maybe dismissing 98% of his career probably wasn't such a smooth move! Such a great character/villain though.

:rotfl

That is a great story buddy. His reaction would have been good to see, probably something like this -

Honestly, every single actor in the film played their part perfectly. Everything about the movie is just about perfect. Never gets old!!!

Absolutely badass!

I agree, but the Marines were laughable, prepared eh? :rotfl, I suppose I wouldn't exactly be the pinnacle of calm when up against a Xeno

I had seen some of the NECA Aliens figures at TRU, but it was the announcement of the Queen that really got my attention. I sold all of my Hot Toys Aliens figures a while back to fund some other things, and because I'm generally no longer collecting 1/6 scale figures. But I still love Aliens and have quite a bit of other Aliens stuff, so the NECA line seems pretty attractive to me as a way to get some relatively inexpensive figures. Do we anticipate that NECA will eventually put out more or less all the major characters?

If you want to jump into collecting NECA aliens with the idea that you'll eventually get all the major characters... don't. It'd be great, but I don't see it happening. I think we'll be lucky to see one or two more marines, myself. :(

I suppose it depends what you mean by major characters. I don't necessarily mind if we don't get all of the marines, but I'd really like to see a Newt along with Ripley and power loader. And I could certainly live without someone like Carter Burke, even if he is a major character.

I'm thinking the first Ripley we see will actually be from Alien, no? I know that's what was announced with all the 35th anniversary information. I would assume then that NECA would do a second version for the Power Loader?

As far as Newt, I can't see NECA going for that. It'd be cool, but I can't see her selling well enough to justify the cost. At all. Even in a box set. Aliens is a fantastic property, but at NECA's cost of manufacturing, the output is going to be pretty limited I'm afraid.

The new queen looks to be pretty movie accurate. I have the Halcyon Aliens Queen and can tell you that posing it is not an easy thing. I wonder how heavy the new queen will be? The main issue is the lower legs were not strong enough to hold the rest of the figure without them getting warped over time. Hopefully, Neca will use materials strong enough to support the figure's weight. I used the metal cast Power Loader at one time to make a diorama with the queen and it served as a means to hold it in place. Since then I removed the PL and just have a front support rod supporting the chest area. Hopefully, Neca's PL will be in scale with the Queen which will look cool but also serve as a support mechanism.
