Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

This angle hides "some" of the errors... :lol

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

I think it looks great from that angle. I am not one to really notice the inaccuracies. As much as I love the movie I never really pour over things for detail. Fair enough if you are one of those kind of people, if thats the case I can see why you may not like this.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

This piece looks absolutely killer. I don't see any "errors" at all.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

Yeah, but at the risk of annoying you while pointing out a silver lining... it also shows this random bad boy seem through the middle of the bio :lol

Believe me, you're not annoying me.
I've torn this thing apart plenty of times.

...and don't get me started on that base again. :lol

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

I've actually gotten over the base. It is what it is. It is just the head now for me. If somebody can completely re sculpt one, bio, dreads and all.... this will be amazing!!!

I'm not sure what the chances are of that happening, but whoever decides to take on that project has a chance to make a lot of money.

Saw this in person at comic con last year and was impressed. Placed my order and can't wait to get it in hand, I think it looks great.

Neat animated gifs.

We're only playing, all friends here despite varying opinions. I have this on order also, I'm glad you found it impressive in person, I am relying on that feeling myself. :duff

The matt paint is not the biggest problem..the hero was matt, too under normal daylight

It still looks metallic there though, as does his armor. The stunt bio was much duller, looks like the paint was based more on that to me. Paint is a relatively easy fix anyway.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

The statue does look nice and I'm sure it looks even better in person, but there's no denying that it is inaccurate. You don't even need to be a hardcore fan to see that. Plenty of comparison pics have been posted here. For me the standouts would have to be the dreads and missing quills (still don't understand how these could be totally missing from the sculpt).

In saying that, unlike some people here, a piece doesn't need to be 100% accurate for me to enjoy it, as long as it looks great on display and still looks like the character (which I think this still does). An incorrect likeness does not stand out as much on aliens and robots as it does on a human character. If I do get this though, I won't be paying full price for it...I don't think it's worth it. Will wait and grab a regular cheaper once it's on sale.

Yes the hero was more metallic as the stunt. With dull paint over it.And your right that its easy to repaint it...for you and me.But a lot of people having not the skills to paint something like a originalprop. So that is sideshows job.:wink1:

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

$1,200 on a collectable then get the airbrush out... No thanks!

If it was a good sculpt I would say pay to have the heads repainted by a pro and it would be worth it, but so much would need changed more than paint. I wish at least one of the 2 heads was good, I could live with that.
