I don't see how it's "hodge-podged" :dunno

Hodge-podge in the sense that it looks like many parts that don't go together -- two different hands (see the wrists), the upper arm and shoulder joint are not a smooth connection, ankle riser again seems like a borrowed part, hips are way too wide (going to make balloon pants). It's just an altogether oddly put together figure. If that's the body we get, I guarantee most people will be replacing it.

My feelings on this line are like a roller coaster, up one day, down the next. I want it to succeed very much but see a lot of what brought the Sideshow line to a screeching halt occurring. If the Gandalf that was shown is not the one that is released it will be deja-vu all over again. Even the Gothmog sculpt changed from what was shown to what was released.

There are those KP child-bearing hips!

I've got a pile of no-name knock-off bodies laying around, but I don't want to have to switch these out every single time.

I suppose the robes will cover this one fine, but I do wish they'd use a more proportional body in the future. It does affect the hang of the outfit in subtle ways that makes figures look more toy-ish.

The one good thing about the costumes for this line is that most if not all either wear robes or lots of draping items or they're Orcs which can have wacky body shapes.

Very true. But it even under the robes it can still make a subtle difference. People who switched out the Witch King body had good results ... the legs were too long and the torsos too short on the original bodies. It's the kind of thing you don't necessarily notice until you see it fixed. And then you can't stop seeing it! :lol

Yeah, I wish I had the guts to undress my WK to change the body. It looks awesome, but its not really the correct build for him. His legs are a bit too long , and his torso too small.

In regards to Gandalf, they should make the hands and other exposed parts match the face ( give it wrinkles, make him look old)
Its already the end of June and we haven't seen a preview. I loved the WK but im disappointed in the feedback on the recent figures. I'm not going to commit to buy it unless we can see the finished version

I know what you meant :wink1: I just don't see anything wrong :)

I wish I didn't.

But hey, I actually kept Gothmog on the body that Asmus supplied even though many people were unhappy with it. So I guess its easy to discount a body from a picture when the focus is purely on that. Its another thing when its in hand and may or may not be suitable for your needs. Only time will tell.

Not sure why Asmus uses a fixed neck body or the limited knee joint design when neither would ever be visible for Gandalf? Just go with the KO TT and call it a day :lecture

indeed. Kind of like of how the ACI Christian body looks nice but really is a POS except in this case, the body may look to be of some concern but turn out to be just fine

indeed. Aragorn and maybe a few Orcs are all that come to mind that would need the sculpted rubber neck/chest piece

Month is nearly over and not a word on Guritz. Means Gandalf will be pushed as well. (remember these were both said to be June releases)

Let's do the math: with the standard month waiting time from unveiling overseas to in-hand at our state-side retailers, that means at best Guritz might be here by late July/early August... and that pushes Gandalf deep into August, maybe September.

Doesn't look like Asmus is gonna pull 5 figures out for 2014 (NOTE: WK and Gothmog were 2013 releases that were also delayed).

Yeah, it is a real bummer,
Guritz are now going out. Gandalf is "near" ready as we are planned to go for the final check up in 2 or 3 July.

We now have 3 different factories working on the production for us,
so hopefully we can pick up the path in the second half of the year.

Its good news , but we still need production pictures before we can commit to a pre-order

Well that's good news.

Since Guritz is going out, do you have production pictures of the figure yet to share?

Our own batch shipped back last Thursday,
so we should get it in the next few days~
once its here, we will open one and take some pictures~
:D

When is the next visual update for Gandalf? - Just curious how he's coming after the beard tweaks and costume changes.
