Statue Obi-Wan Kenobi Mythos Statue

Weren't all of the Mythos statues listed as Sideshow exclusives? It says right on the product page "This item is exclusively available only at SideshowCollectibles.com". Why would any retailers get them?

Mythos is Sideshow.com exclusive in the US, but european Retailer got the Mythos Line like regular Sideshow Items at first...so we had some kind of luck with Mythos....

I can understand the dissapointment of non-US collectors with the last batch of Obi`s, but SSC would be stupid, not deliever the US Market if the demand is there, and there is always a chance to get an Obi via Waitlist, i guess...(ok, shipping and import taxes blows, but better than paying sky rocking elvisbay prices!

So much pain flows though this statue.....such suffering....x.X To those not fortunate enough to own this Obi I dare not imagine the pain. However hope springs eternal never give up my brothers.

No. It was labeled as sold out when it wasn't actually completely sold out, there was another batch to be made to finish off the numbers so the ES is the same as it always was advertised as being. Just a case of poor wording that confused everybody really. maybe "awaiting stock" would be a better status in future.

Well here goes the secondary market hike , up, up , up , up !!!!!

Yeah, I checked ebay and the run completion didn't seem to hurt the aftermarket very long... A month ago one sold for $560 but last two went for $1200 and $800 and the only one listed now is for $1100.

These are nice pieces, but they are not worth that kind of money! It's insane. I sold my Boba for pretty much retail and I don't regret it, the guy was chuffed to get one and I got back what I paid and orderd the Knifehead statue... win win.

Yeah, I don't think they are worth that much either but its the best Obi statue ever made and if you want one bad enough.....

My desire to own this piece stems from a personal curiosity as to Obi Wan's history between the moment he handed Luke over to his Aunt & Uncle, until he meets Luke in the desert during the Tusken attack. I guess it is the "mythos" I am most interested in.

And imagine if Disney produce a "Obi Wan" Spin Off someday, with aged Iwan McGregor!
The prices for this piece will explode!

But both Headscupts (aged McGregor and younger Guiness) are some of the bests out there, and the Details on the Mythos Statues are mind blowing...

The "Kenobi" Book will be a good companion piece for the Mythos Statue, and as heard, a good read also...

Mine is stuck in it's box atm until I manage to pick up a shelf. Showed a friend just the photo of him on the box and he Immediately said 'Coool this Obi while Luke is growing up in-between the two movies...that's freaking amazing'. Gives credit to how much they succeeded with this one. With just a glace of the box art the entire mood, location and time frame is conveyed. To be honest i can't think of how they would top this Obi. Would be awesome if they did then i could own 2 amazing obi statues lul.

It sounds like it was solicited to them, but now it's been pulled back. Odd for Sideshow to do something like this, but it seems in general this has been an odd release

I just received a damaged one the other day and I'll be at least repainting the portraits and the hands... and then I'll play it by ear on the rest of him. Maybe a bit of touch-ups and add some sandyness to his boots, they look a bit to clean to me

SS really screwed this one up. Get a lot of hopes up only to pull the rug out from underneath all those EU orders and sell it exclusively on their site instead. I'm sure it won't be the last time.

I just bit the bullet and bought one for $700, couldn't stand the posibility of missing this piece again, it artived today and it's gorgeous. I have a pre-order at lacitedesnuanges and they haven't cancelled my preorder yet, if they get their hands on some obi's I'll sell my pre-order for the amount I payed for the NRD.

There are not a lot of things I would spend $700 on but if I had to this might just be one of them. I think its not only the best Obi-Wan statue ever but one of the best Star Wars statues ever made period.

To be honest it will probably be a very long time before we see another full sculpture of Obi-Wan in a great pose, if ever... I'm sure down the road will get another Obi-Wan PF with full cloth standing in a museum pose but IMO it will pale in comparison to this statue. I can totally see this statue becoming a grail...

Does anybody have a picture of him still in the box? Im in the process of packing him up to deliver it to a buyer. Im having a hard time putinh him back in the box. I forgot how it was positioned in the box.
