Hey guys I'm starting the cape mod and the black rubber piece just wont budge. I am watching a tutorial video by shortround and his seemed to come off much MUCH easier than mine. The parts where there is glue arent budging the tiniest tiniest tiniest bit. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Mine was quite snug, but after applying some added pressure it budged little by little. It's more about time and pulling very small parts as you go along. Once I got the first couple sections loose, the rest came quite easily. Just go slow and be persistent, it will work out. Good luck.

Whaaaaaaaat?

That sounds like a disaster waiting to happen.

that was a thought. rubbing small amount of candle (of course unlit) on the insides of leather boots works out for me and smoothens out the 'sharpness'. figured that would work at least on the armpits and other places where the suit touches each other.

you guys seriously thought i was dripping a lighted candle? ;)

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

saw people having issues....mine is perfectly fine. No problems. Its been out of the box since the day I got it. Are you guys posing them too much? the suit is skin tight on him. If you pose his arms or legs too much, its probably bound to rip. Its not made from krypton...you know.:lol

actually one of the reasons I wont use that metal arm stand he comes with because I worry the clamp of the arm would ruin the suit. But he stands perfect without it. Jor-El needs the stand, but the fabric clothing protects it a little more. But Id like to get a regular stand for him. Not a fan of these clamping arms.

Of course it won't budge.
It's superglued on.
You need to very gently start peeling it off from the rear and keep gently peeling it off till it comes off.
I removed one side then the other till only the slender part at the front remained, then peeled that off too.
Once you start on the mod, you have to keep going.

This may be a silly question but how much is a (man of steel) Tony Mei cape delivered & where can you buy it from?

I haven't received my supes yet, still waiting for my supplier to get his delivery! If I'm lucky I might recieve it next week now, what with Easter break coming up.
But the neck/cape mod does look quite scary to me. But I do think it definitely looks better & it may be something I attempt when the novelty has worn of a bit, don't think I could bring myself to do it to a fresh out of box figure, I don't have the skills of some of you guys :)

You would get the cape from Tony. dandymei@gmail.com

Ok nevermind, at the moment I'd just be happy to have the figure in my grubby mitts ;)

If you're tempted to do the neck/cape mod at all when you get superman, I highly suggest getting the cape from Tony while
he still have some.
The figure stock is indeed a great and cool looking figure, but the cape mod with Tony's cape brings the figure to another level.

:goodpost: Tony's cape is fantastic by itself and amazing when paired with the collar mod.

I got two from Tony and put one on mine, and one on my Brother's.
But just as a safety measure, i got similar cloth from a local textiles place(Similar not exact), and cut myself another one for my "TTM20 bodied" custom. It's not perfect, but it works okay.
So on the off chance you can't get one from Tony, you can still make one. Obviously, it might not be near as good as Tony's one, but if he's sold out, there might not be another option.

If you're seriously considering getting the cape from Tony you'll have to get in touch with him very soon. He's already announced that when he's done with the current run he is moving onto other projects (66 Bats) and won't be doing anymore.

Yep. The aside from not removing the cape, the other thing I didn't do was hollow out the areas that rest on the shoulders. I didn't see any reason to do that

I considered that when i did this mod for the first time, and that upper frame won't sit flat unless you hollow the frame out.
Do you have pics of yours modded?
