re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I'm going back to bed. I shouldn't have woke up at 6am. It's Sunday. I'm still tired. I'll try to dream about cutting my foot in half, and see what happens...

I didn't realize there was a flocked version. That's cool.

Ahh, i didn't know she was in DOS. I still haven't seen it.

Anyone ever have a dream so real that it woke you out of sound sleep. I just dreamt that I was using a circular power saw and dropped it on my foot. I looked down and saw it had cut the top of my shoe a little but my foot seemed fine. I ignored it until I took my shoe off and noticed that it had cut through half of the foot and then the pain came in. This caused me to wake up and grab my foot which was in horrible pain. Once I stood up the pain went away. Freaky...

Sounds like you got Freddy Kruegered, Titus.

Holy crap, just had my first small taste of Armageddon! Early yesterday morning I got home from work and was browsing the web and BOOM! Interwebz goes down. No big deal, just reboot the modem. Nope still nothing. So I figure I'll just browse on my phone. Nope. No connection to network, no 4g no mobile network at all. Nothing. No phones, not internet zero. Then I go to bed and wake up a few hours later and still nothing. Wife gets home from work at the bank and tells me everything in about a 200 mile radius is down. All mobile networks, internet, land lines, credit cards, ATMs, were down. NOTHING worked. It was nuts, if you didn't have cash you were 100% SOL. It was like going from 2014 to 1900 in a heart beat. All that still worked was electricity. Lasted about 12 hours.

My only question was how the fawk can that all go down at the same time? Like there is just a "master switch" or something :dunno

I think the NWO was running a test of some sort, seems so incredibly unlikely that all that stuff could go out simultaneously. I say there were nefarious powers at work.

Aliens, King Darkness. You're located in the heart of alien country.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

That's true. I thought it was a massive EMP, but I think that would have taken out electricity too.

Aliens are the only likely source, had to be some sort of super tech we aren't aware of.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I'm not much of a conspiracy theories, but it was eerie how seemingly easy it was to create total isolation and stop all forms of communication like that. It was weird to have a sense that if something was going on there was no way to get information out, or have it coming in. Very strange series of events.

In the span of just a few seconds I had no way to contact anyone and was for all intents and purposes broke. With no access to banks, all those digital ones and zeros meant nothing. Fawk that.

Damn those aliens for taking out your internet access! :cuss

It is pretty weird. I think we've become so dependent on our technology, running water, motor vehicles, supermarkets, etc. that we'd be pretty screwed if something big went down.

Yup. That's what me and my wife were talking about. Like if for some reason that lasted more than a couple days we would be fawked cause we had no cash. We couldn't go get gas in our cars or get groceries. It was all pretty weird and a little frightening.

Especially the bank thing, she was at work when it happened and was telling me about 8 hours worth of people loosing their **** cause they couldn't cash their checks or get any money out of the bank. And that was just one day, imagine if it lasted a week or something.

Anyway, that was my exciting Saturday cut off from the rest of the world, for all I knew WWIII had stared :lol

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I do that sometimes when I dream I'm falling or tripping. Always wakes me up.

I see Eric has the same problem as me when quoting one post after another. I'm typically stuck with all the previous quotes I already responded to, and have to delete them all before posting my new quote. Anyone else!

Happy Birthday VA! ;) I'm already 40, so don't fret.

I don't understand how the cell phone towers would stop working. You'd think cell phones would still work. And what about land-line telephones? You'd think those would still work (those who still have service through a traditional phone company).

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Did you happen to notice if there was a dome over your town, King? :lol

That does sound pretty freaky, though. :panic:

Ummm, turn on the TV or radio? You didn't say those weren't working...

YES!!! This happens to me frequently and is very annoying!

I guess I really do have first world problems. :lol
We can only have third world problems. We are the 3rd planet from the sun. Only Mercury can have first world problems...

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I already texted JJJ, FLOSI, ken, and punk, but I wanted to let the other LEGO minifig collectors know that the Simpsons may be out at Walmart now. Even better, they are on sale for $2.97 this week (reg. $3.97). So just a heads up! I only saw them at one of my Walmarts though. :(
