Re: Jean Grey - Jim Lee Era

Looks mostly sculpted and that's good!

Too many cooks in the kitchen and that's bad!

Looks like a good statue. Mainly sculpt which is best. I do wonder what a nice spandex would look like though since she needs no muscle definition

But I'll say it, if Koto already got Eric Sosa to do a Jean Grey this statue may be in for a world of hurt.

$400.00 not found.

Except it would be 1:6 scale instead of 1:4 scale

Re: Jean Grey - Jim Lee Era

I know its just one photo but I am not feeling the side profile. Looking at NBA Player heads all day from multiple angles I have a feeling she is going to turn out like Wanda. I will also say upfront that I have never been fond of the Xmen Cartoon Pony Tail look. I hope the second head has the hair down. As others have pointed out the uniform looks really stiff but it looks like latex over the sculpt for her costume. Maybe plastic shoulder pads as well.

If I were to guess I think the COH will have the hair down and be looking straight ahead.

Re: Jean Grey - Jim Lee Era

After looking at the few pictures we have so far this is my pre-opinion piece :)

I'm stoked that it's a fully sculpted statue, but I wish on her outfit they would of added some folds here and there to show it's an outfit she's wearing and not body paint :) ... Here's example what I'm talking about, if you look at Storm she has some folds in her chest area where the sculpted fabric is being stretched, if you look at Jean it's way to smooth.. It's little details like that which make the statue come to life.

I think this Jean, having been designed 4 years ago, was designed to go along with the Jim Lee nspired Rogue and Psylocke PFs which had skin tight outfits which matched the 90s skins tight spandex. The Storm really is based on a design from a different era.

You can see wrinkles in her left arm pit, and on hands/gloves. :)

I think this looks good, happy for you x-men fans. But I don't think anything will live up to that Wonder Woman PF.

Re: Jean Grey - Jim Lee Era

I can't wait to pass on this!

yea..that and red x base…personally I'm hoping that the phoenix statue whenever that gets made looks a lot better than this..i consider phoenix/dark phoenix a must buy, not necessarily jean grey..if i was someone who was looking forward to this id be praying that the full reveal really does reveal something other than what we've seen today…i feel like the piece doesn't have emotion coming out of it…cyclops, gambit, colossus, wolverine, apoc, those x-men pieces have i guess a real feel to them, like they're popping out of the statue and that there's real emotion there..i don't get that from this and it just seems very dull in terms of expression…hopefully for those who want this the coh offers something more...

Re: Jean Grey - Jim Lee Era

What is this electro??? Unless there is a switchout torso these aren't the PF. The arm placement is all wrong.

I'm pretty sure that's the bowen jean grey.

I really want this to have a sculpted base, not a fan of the x-base. The iceman, beast, angel, and cyclop's statues had cool bases.

Re: Jean Grey - Jim Lee Era

I was never interested in ordering a Jean Grey, but I am always interested to see pieces that are well done. I'm honestly not liking what I see here...I know it's only a small pic, but the head on view of the portrait doesn't look great. I will wait until full reveal before I make any kind of judgement though...

Re: Jean Grey - Jim Lee Era

I don't know what to think yet, that being said she isn't on my need list so money saved :yess

I was hoping for a Wonder Woman / Schumacher-esque statue. I got a Kotobukiya Bishoujo-esque statue. Hopefully the full reveal and some better lighting will change that. It was her or Emma, maybe I'll have better luck with Emma

Well if its true this was designed 4 years ago Bishoujo might be what they were going for. There are tons of people who like them(don't ask me why, I personally think they're awful) and remember that Bishoujo-esque Emma that came out.
