Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

3D greatly diminishes the movie experience. GREATLY diminishes it. It's designed to enhance but it literally does the opposite. It makes the picture dark and blurry. I don't care what any 3D enthiusiast says, you will NEVER get the same quality watching a 3D Blu Ray as you would a regular Blu Ray.

Also, I have to wear glasses when I'm watching movies, so the last thing I want to do is put ANOTHER pair of glasses on over the top.

Yeah, I agree with everything you said and I also wear glasses for the movies. I hate 3D with a passion! It wouldn't bother me if they offered both 3D and no-3D on the premium screening rooms but they don't even give you the choice now days. Drives me insane.

I watched Thor: The Dark World in 3D and it was so awful to me I vowed to never watch another 3D movie again. EVER!

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

I tried out a 3D tv in a shop and it was just as bad as the cinema for me, feel sorry for all the poor suckers who bought into that nonsense.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

3D is blurry because you have two lower resolution images for the effect. Give me a 2D image with a higher resolution anyday. Until 3D can be achieved without goggles, it will continue to suck.

Yet people will still buy into the gimmick, despite it having a history of continually failing. "Ooh, SHINY!" :lol

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

Ive had some great 3D experiences and some terrible ones. Avatar and Tron were great in 3D.... The Hobbit Desolation was the WORST. I think it was more to do with the frame rate strangeness. I think the movie thearters are more to blame for the lack of quality in the images... often the ultra-expensive projection bulbs are turned way down in order to extend their life and as a result the colors and contrast and image appear worse and darker.

:goodpost:

Still, many movies has terribly executed 3D to begin with.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

It's why Michael Bay gets to keep coming out with more Transformers movies while "we" can't even get a Dredd sequel :slap

I so badly want a sequel to Dredd. That film is criminally underrated. And everyone I have shown it too, loves it, and says they don't even remember hearing about it coming to theaters.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

People are saying this is the best Marvel flick so far, which really doesn't mean that much.

Is this better than Iron Man or Spider-Man 2?

And don't even bother mentioning Avengers. Other than seeing the Heroes together, Avenges was pretty meh story movie.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

This movie looks like the best depiction of Caps abilities and skill sets that a fan could possibly hope for.
Add a great story, great costume design, great bad guys, action sequences and it'll be a huge success.
What else to want in a CBM?

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

The movie is awesome.is it the best Marvel movie? Everyone's opinion differs for various reasons.it is up there though.some scenes you just go wtf!!!how did they think of that?
I am pretty sure 99% of people that see this will enjoy it.even the casual movie goer.it is worthy of multiple viewings for the action alone as well as Scarjo factor.

I think Iron Man, Thor, Blade, Spider-Man 2, Avengers, and X2 are all great films. So I would find that very impressive for this film to be the best. Better than DC's outings for the most part. And I see you're point on Avengers, hopefully both it's sequels have a stronger plot. But everything I loved about that film is all about the heroes coming together and bickering and setting it all up for the Hulk. I thought that was perfected.
