I don't mind the increase in costs, but I would like to see smaller production sizes also. 7500 Batmen is just ridiculous.

Hey guys how long ago did the original Thor PF go up for PO

I'll be honest I voted yes but I'll always collect statues. I'm just not sure if they'll be from Sideshow.

:exactly:

Do not think I'll give up on collecting. I can stretch more and get some extra bucks to buy stuff, but then there are other priorities to be taken care of.

Alternatively, I am seriously considering Prototypez (1:6 & 1:5 scale) as and when they release the DCU stuff. Looks quite promising.

Me neither but collecting at these prices and with the gradually increasing prices makes it a little more difficult

Letting my current orders finish then it will take something really special to tempt me back, couple of figs max per year.

It's not just the increases but it seems like this year they are going ****ing crazy with PO's throwing new stuff up almost every week. Folk are gonna be tapped out before comic con even arrives.

Yeah I agree! As of late I've really had to prioritise what I am ordering. I am relieved when I see the newsletter and the new release/s are stuff that am either not into are pass-able haha!

At these prices, wont they be losing the people that want to trade up for the newer statue and or those that buy multiples of the same character?

It will definitely make me reconsider what I purchase going forward. With the combination of higher prices, TBD edition sizes, and non-refundable deposits I start to lose interest.

Also the larger sculpts now being hollow must make them a hell of a lot cheaper to produce.

Shipping for International customers seems to have doubled in the last year to make things worse.

There's a lot of things Sideshow does that more in their favor than the collectors. I understand that things are going up in price but why does QC have to suffer too. Back in the day statues were heavier, much better paint apps, low edition size, better packaging (better art boxes) and fairly priced. Now what we are seeing is lighter statues (don't mind if it cuts production cost down), paint problems (usually never look the same way), huge edition size (don't mind it because i beleieve everyone deserves a chance to obtain these statues), plain art boxes (where is the comic strip that got us so excited before right when we were about to unpack the box?), prices are sky rocketing (almost doubling in price but not meeting the qualities it used to), no longer offer decent discounts for damaged/defective statues and there's no more joy of rushing to the computer on Thursday to preorder the next statue. I hope Sideshow realizes these issues and finds a way to make these statues more worth it. There's a reason why some of the older statues sell for what they do, they are made well and priced fairly.

Remember the Harry Ford business model: Sell it at an affordable price and you will sell more. Sideshow seems to have forgotten Business 101.

I agree 100% ...... I will now either not buy or carefully watch what I do buy. If statues were only 250-300 I would buy that many more. SO instead of being able to buy 4-5 a year now I will only be buying 1 ..maybe 2 at most. Even if I buy two at 550 ..thats 1100. 4-5x 300 = more money for SS

Hi clairelouise, welcome to the board.
Yeh, I ordered Gladiator Hulk and Punisher PF for great prices with the 10% discount.
Could do with more offers like that.

No but I will slow down hell of a lot now though. I'm going PO Thor on Thursday but once I get all the characters in my Sig my must buy characters will be Doom, Magneto, Thanos, Dare Devil & Wolverine. Any other characters will be very carefully considered. Like I had the new Lobo PF what was teased recently as a must buy but characters like that won't be considered anymore unfortunately.

What annoys me is I understand there will always be inflation but a $40 rise is taking the piss with the new Thor. I can't see anything about that PF To justify it. I know the original idea was to make the Frog the exclusive but decided to sell it separately, which would justify the extra 40bucks if it had been the Ex but I feel SS have got greedy on this one :(

Pricing does not make me question anything - quality and lack of quality does.

If a company is going to start increasing their retail prices than they better make sure they don't release crappy products loaded with QC issues, especially when they get delayed for a century.
