Great get on the Dark Rider for $400.. totally jealous :nazgul

Thanks. I'm pretty happy. My concession for spending the money is two-fold. 1, I'm not going to ship it from bbts until I sell the stuff to replace the money in savings and 2, I'm going to cancel a bunch of stuff I had on preorder, mostly transformers and some 1/6. Have to sacrifice less important stuff when making big purchases, and I'd rather have this beast on his beast than lots of other stuff. Hopefully I can unload what I'm selling soon and get this guy shipped in a month or so :)

I'm really enjoying collecting LOTR stuff. So far I just have Sauron PF and just bought the Dark Rider PF for $400. Wasn't sure I was going to like it, but it has suh great presence. Also have the Asmus Witch King, which despite being totally out of scale looks awesome next to Sauron. I think he will go well with this statue too, though I may upgrade to the Morgul Lord PF one day. Shame I got into LOTR PFs so late in the game.

Yep, at $400 i would pick it up too. But for $800 i wouldn't touch that thing with the cracking issues

Thanks. I feel really good about it for the price. Although it was more like 420 when you factor in the gas I had to use. Drove an hour to meet a boardie to pick it up. I don't think it's an $800 statue either, with or without cracking issues. $400-600 seems right. The one I got does have a very small crack on the left horse leg, but really it looks more like a small cut than a crack. Nothing like a couple of the bad ones I've seen. It's a hair length deep.

He is even growing on my fiance, who was really objected to me buying it because of "the poor dead horsey" lol.

Just need to find a place to put him. Sauron is on the piano, no more room there. Right now he is in the middle of the dining room. Would make for interesting dinner parties!

Still not gonna ship azog until I sell my stuff. Been lazy about listing it on ebay. But I kind of want to wait a couple months anyway to see if I do buy a house in May. Azog would be a great house warming gift to myself :)

You have more patience then me, my friend :)

Congrats on the score for $400, I saw his post where he was going to sell right when he saw the crack. I would have gotten it for a 2nd one to display with my EX for that kind of money, crack or no crack. $800 retail is pretty close to where it should have been priced. You pay $400 for ANY PF now. Stuff that is a little larger like Hulk is $550 so $400-600 is pretty unrealistic these days for something that large and well done(ignoring the cracking issue of course). Hopefully that was just a bad batch as we have only seen 5-10 out of 1000 or more.

Yeah I know. I meant the paint and detail was more akin to what I feel is a $400-$600 piece. The differences between the proto paint and the actual paint is quite disappointing. The armor and gore on the horse doesn't pop at all like the proto pics, and the base looks like boring throw-up lol.

Spent 30 minutes futzing the robes tonight and feel like I just made it worse :/

Every day it gets harder not to ship mine... Must stay strong... Must sell things to cover exorbitant expense... must resist Temptazogtation.

I noticed that the claw arm is not exactly tight in the peg hole. Does anybody else have this problem?

Two more azog auctions finished this weekend. Both end at about $950 after shipping. Almost tried to win one and see if BBTS would refund for my order and save almost $200.

It's not super tight on mine, but it rests on the warg, and at the angle it's at there's not really any danger of it falling out. I've noticed in some pics online where people have the claw upside down (I made that mistake when I first unpacked Azog), so you might want to make sure of that first.

Trust me, after the scalpers are done unloading theirs, these will end up in the hands of people who intend to keep them and the price will double and the frequency they are found for sale will be close to never.

I had it upside down originally as well, but then I fixed it. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't a real issue. It looks fine, I just noticed it wasn't necessarily tight. thank you.

exactly. not a chance in hell this statue does not significantly go up in value in the next couple months. I paid almost 400 over retail, but I don't regret it for a moment.

I'm not worried about the long term value. Only that I could have saved myself a couple hundred bucks. But I'm also OK with what I spent.
