All these R2's are different sizes. You need to check the cm and do the conversion. I think the correct R2 (clock) is 18 cm.

Actually the Taito clock and the cooler are the same size. It's the speakers I'm not sure about.

Need help - R2-D2 & C-3PO

Hi guys,

So just got into collecting Star Wars figures by pre ordering hot toys Luke but just wondering if there was any cheap ways of getting 1/6 scale r2 and 3po? I have seen a few hasbro r2s and some cheap sideshow c3p0s but unsure what they are like so just wondered what you would all suggest. Any links to places i could buy them would be much appreciated.

I've merged your original thread/question with this thread... This is the droid you should be looking for. I've got him and he looks great (to scale) and the price is equally as great.

What an awesome figure to get into the line on. The only downside I see is, its kind of like you're starting off by collecting a Lambo, you may be a bit underwhelmed if you start filling in your collection. :lol

Where can I buy this one? All I can find on ebay is:

Here

E-bay is really where you're going to have to look for it. That's where I got mine (quite a while ago) and many others as well got there's from e-bay.

it's for sale here. A little steep since I got mine for $40.00 shipped but at least everyone will know where to get one.

It is a full 7 inches tall and fully articulated including third retractable leg.

Perfect scale for R2. Much taller and wider than hasbro. Looks great in this shot too.

It's not the projector one. Just the clock that's hidden behind a small panel.

FINALLY had a chance to snap some pics of my R2-D2 'clock'. Here you go! :)

With my SS Luke and overhauled Hasbro 3P0:

Some Hasbro Jawas and my custom chief Jawa:

With little HasBRO.

Soooooooooooooooooo worth it. Best "clock" I ever bought. Makes me feel verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry sorry for the folks who forked over $200 for the Medi version when this is out there.

Here are some pics for review...

Re: Need help - R2-D2 & C-3PO

Hmmm looks a bit short? Is that the normal size for the Hasbro ones?

Luke was a lil short as a stormtrooper too :nana:

I do believe that is the normal size for the hasbro ones. but im not too bothered i picked this lil one up with the C3PO for $20.00

I happened to discover this boxed R2 displayed in one local toystore. I did not know what this item was, but I found that the height of this droid appoximate match my SW 12" figures. The price is a bit expensive, so I decide to do a research back home through some toy websites & youtube. Then I gladly managed to get one from a HK ebayer & happy to present to you, 18cm height Taito R2D2 digital clock. Please excuse me for posting to much photos.:wave

Taito R2 vs Hasbro R2

Koto w Taito

What type of C3P0 figure is that on the last photo on the right?

**EDIT: I assume it's Kotobukiya

hey i want to thank you guys for making me aware of ther Taito r2. I was going to get the clock but it was too expensive, so i found the drink warmer on amazon(Thanks to this post) but i had to customize it. I started with the dome repainte and added the third leg from my Hasbro r2 and i changed the vents in the fron of his body, I didnt like the square ones.

I finally broke down and purchased the taito R2 does this have any light up features?

It depends which one you got! It has been through so many iterations at this point. The one that I have is the one with the simple clock inside of it. That one has no light features, but it has great articulation and scale.

Both Taito's that I'm aware of (the 1/6 scale) are gimmicks. They really aren't toys or collectibles, so no light up features on either. The clock has the retractable 3rd leg, the head goes up, and a pull out arm. The can warmer/cooler whatever has none of those things, but they are both the same size. There are other "Taito" R2's but they are smaller, so be careful what you get. This is my repaint of the can holder next to what it looks like out of the box. VERY salvageable for a stand-in and much less expensive than the undersize Medi. These guys were $34 a piece at Amazon. I'll sacrifice lights for scale any day, but that's just me.
