Rex is an Arc Trooper, they now have all the parts now they just need to do some re-paints...

Not quite, the helmet is different around the mouth area, the forearm gauntlets, and the upper body armor are different as well.
Love some arc troopers but we also need some " Republic Commandos" !!!!!!!

Derryl Depriest from Hasbro was quoted at NYTF 2014 saying that Disney told them not to make any more EU figures and to phase out all the Clone Wars stuff, and start planning for "Rebels" and Episode VII.

I wonder if Disney is having that same conversation with Sideshow.

I was just watching an Episode of The Clone Wars(I am working my way back through the entire show) and there was a clone officer(Wearing grey trousers and Tunic), who had a scar just like Wolffe, with a whited out eye.
S2 Ep1, 35 seconds into the ep.

I'm betting that is exactly what Disney is doing. Disney isn't stupid. They are going to force SS to put the Rebels product front and center and market the crap out of it. Too bad too, because while the verdict is still out, the fanbase is already there for OT and most of the CW and certain characters of the prequels and EU.

I love how they've taken the realistic style with the CW characters like Rex and Wolffe, and if they did that with Rebels, maybe, just maaaaybe I would get a 1/ scale Sabine. Other than that I'd much rather throw money at sideshow for arc or Republic commando figures or dioramas. Heck even some more life sized clone busts like cody would be preferred over rebels merch

Good call! I bet that's how we're going to get our updated Stormtroopers. They'll be a Rebels release.

Hope not, because their stormtrooper design is based of McQuarrie's work. Cool design, but not the original stormies that ended up in the films.

Looking at the videos of Rebels you can tell that the stormtroopers are going to be the same as the ones on the OT, the character Ezra does use a helmet that is based on McQuarrie's design, how come? don't know yet.

Here you can see the same old stormtrooper just in a cartoonish version.

Filoni and other crew members have stated they will use slightly altered designs, inspired from McQuarrie's work. They say it will be this way because the clones are being phased out and recruits are being phased in, but their armor is still evolving. Because Rebels takes place before SW, the design will be slightly altered.

That's not how licencing works.
They can't force SS to make anything. They can refuse to renew SS's licence for Prequel Clones when it comes up for renewal, and not grant any new licence for other clones(But with a licensee like Sideshow, who are a *big* player in collectables, i wonder if Disney won't let them just continue on as they have been doing). They can also give them incentives to take on the "Rebels" licences at favourable rates. And of course, regarding the slightly altered Storm trooper designs, it's worth pointing out that all the clones SS have put out(Mainly from TCW), are based on stylised cartoons, but look like normal guys(Even though the clones in the show look like something out of the old 1960's Thunderbirds puppet show), so i wouldn't be worried about SS offerings being *too* stylised.
Could be a new era in SW collecting
The way i look at it is simply this: "It's Star Wars. I like it. Give me more!"

^ Bad choice of wording on my part. I realize they aren't forcing them, but I'm willing to bet they are strongly suggesting SS do this.

You could totally be right.
But i am willing to bet the >$150 collectables market might warrant a special exception being made.
You'll never know till SS announce the next three or four figures. I am guessing there will be at least a six month lead time to unveiling protos/preorders starting.
So if the orders are rolling down from high atop the house of mouse, we won't see much effect on SS's business till the end of the year most likely.

I posted the same info on the "Confirmed Upcoming Sideshow Star Wars Releases: 1/6 Figures and Accessories" thread, and Pixelpiper had some very interesting points similar to what Bar is saying.

Here's the quote:

That's an interesting rumor. Even though Sideshow's license is a sub of Hasbro's Master Toy License (like most others besides Lego), I wouldn't be too worried as their products cater to a different market. Hasbro is mass-market retail with high visibility and their investment and lump-sum payouts help to fund the films. Whereas Sideshow produces collectibles for a small market (by comparison) with very low public visibility. Maybe in the longer term they'll have to cut back on EU and other previous non-film material, but I wouldn't expect an all out stop to PT characters.

Also, unlike Sideshow, Hasbro has to compete fiercely for limited retail shelf space and they can't have too many peg-warmers reducing the space available for the new products that will help promote the new movies.

Very cool figure! Be extremely careful with the damn shoulder antenna. I knew that it was fragile and still managed to break it. Little glue fixes it but still annoying.

beautiful shots there, omagro!

looks good with Malgus, GeberalZodLives....

Looking forward to seeing Wolffe on netflix this weekend in CW.....

In regards to the Disney discussion above... remeber rebels caters to kids, Disney is not going to ram that down a collectible companies throat...:lol

sure sideshow may do something, but it would be SS choice to do so, not disney
