Such a great figure, your going to love it Bill.

I'm loving this guy more and more every time I look at it... but the extra 1/2" of height is starting to gnaw at me a bit. Not sure what if anything I'll do about it. I know a few people have switched to the TT2.0 body, but converting the pegs... the drilling and such...
If SS ever puts out a Chewy, then I'll probably be motivated to shorten Vader- just to make Chewy's size correct by comparison.
As it is now, if the Chewy were produced to be his accurate height, he would only be about 1" taller than this Vader, which isn't enough.

Waitaminute... did your original have MISSING tusks or BROKEN tusks? I've heard of people finding the loose tusk in a box and gluing it back on, but not snapping a tusk off and gluing it where one was broken. How did you get the good tusks off the one helmet? Did you heat them up and soften the glue? Or just break them off? It's possible that me trying this will be more productive than waiting for SS to send me a helmet that isn't damaged.

I just used a small pair of non toothed pliers to twist and pull the tusk out of the chin barrel. It has a very small tip that is glued inside the hole of the tubes on his chin. Just twitted it back and forth, not 180 degrees, about 45 degrees and gave a bit of a tug. Just came right out.

Then dabbed a bit of glue on the, for lack of a better word, nipple and popped it on. Destroyed the one the sent me but kept the other tusk in a baggie and put it in the box just in case.

I didn't modify any of Vader's parts to swap it over to the tt20. All I had to do was drill big enough holes in the bottom of the tt20 ankles to accommodate the SS foot pegs.

For the wrists I just used the HT pegs and popped out the SS ones. Fits perfect.

The only other mod and the one that baffled me a while was the neck. How did I want to go about it. I thought I could remove the entire upper rubber muscle body but that made him too thin up top. I thought of using the SS neck and head post but that have him a giraffe neck.

I finally settled on the mod I saw here somewhere, I wish I could give credit where it's due, by cutting the rubber neck down just enough to seat the head to the shoulders. I also had to shorten the neck peg of the HT body. Just hollowed out the ball on one end and screwed it onto the post. Came out great. Still need to pad his midsection a bit but other than than I'm pleased as peach.

That sounded like excellent advice, so I just fired up the chat feature. The first message I got was "have you filled out the exchange/return forms" followed by a link. Well, so much for IM, so I clicked the "call me" button. My phone rang immediately, the robot tells me that I'm being connected to the person, and then it rings until I get voicemail. So, I hang up, and just call the CS number. Someone answers, I briefly explain, and she tells me she'll check and see if there's someone from the returns department available. I hold for awhile, she comes back, and tells me to take the email I previously received with the return info, and reply to that and they'll take care of it.

I didn't read the whole previous thread you were responding to, don't know if there was whining or entitlement, not gonna go there. Just saying that phone and IM aren't necessarily any faster than email.

I was the one who was accused of whining and entitlement.

Got up at 6am Australian time today and jumped on the chat feature.

The person I dealt with was abrupt and rude.

I was told to keep waiting...and that was all.

7 days tomorrow since I sent my original email.

The waiting game continues...

I might do this someday, and thanks.
The one thing that will really bother me though, is having to trim 1/2 inch off the bottom of the cape and robe. That's forever...

If anyone is curious how long the chest/ belt will stay on if just left on all the time… Two days. Fresh Duracell batteries and all.

Has the "regular version" started shipping? I am getting mine through a store and not directly through Sideshow incase you were curious as to why I would not be getting the exclusive.

There is a 50% chance that they're going to turn up broken if you have missed the poll-thread.

This whole Vader-thing is summed up perfectly by one picture:

Sorry, just trying to pour some salt into the potential wounds, I have to wait at least another month before I can get mine. :gah:

I emailed SSC returns department last Wednesday and my replacement helmet arrived today. So it took 6 days from one email to the arrival of the replacement. That's what I call service! Didn't ask for photos of the original damaged one either.

What are the odds of a waitlist converting for the EX at this point? Am I better off just going with the regular?

It is just a matter of getting the cut off hand or not right? Think hard about how you want to display him... will it be with that hand? If not then why even sweat the exclusive?

That's a great point and I had thought of that. I just figured if I had a shot at the exclusive, for not too big a difference in price, why not? Bottom line is I've waited long enough and I want this figure, don't want to miss out either way.

I know the chance is high for something to be wrong, but since I ordered from SSC, I'm not worried because I know they will make everything right.
