Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

Irons is a brilliant casting. Facebook boy is interesting. At least he can act.

:lol did you actually look for the word turd? :lol yeah I know, and you're as much of a DC fanboy as I am, maybe more.

Well, I never use harsh language on the boards but this movie just knows how to push me. It's like a curse that all modern DC movies could never match their animated counterparts or the comics. For shame DC.

Seems like Jesse Eisenberg indeed could act, but I'd just like to see a more intimidating Luthor.

I too like the idea of Irons, but can't help but think he would have made a better Batman villain with that amazing voice of his. But they could have done much worse for Alfred.

Eisenberg? Really? And I thought Afleck was a bad call. I can see how Ben would look good in the bat suit, but not as Bruce Wayne. Eisenberg I just see as a nerd. They're going to end up making Lex some super genius kid that founded a Facebook like company and got rich at a young age. I don't buy that Metropolis was littered with his company already. That would take several years, if not decades to do - something he hasn't even lived long enough to make believable. Now I'm really bummed Cranston didn't get the role. Maybe we can hope this is another false announcement or that he'll drop out?

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

With Eisenberg you have that Ledger thing going. He at least looks like he could pass off the super genius bit. Something that Hackman never did. He just came off like a evil car salesman.

Save Cranston for Victor Fries.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

Just in. Jesse Eisenberg has dropped out.

His mom is gonna be busy and can't give him a ride to the set.

I agree with everything you say on this subject. It's interesting and different from what's come before. Let's just see what they have planned for the characters. So sick of people's knee jerk reaction to these casting announcements.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

I think both casting choices are pretty good. Irons as Alfred, that will be very interesting! :rock
And Eisenberg, he's not my favourite actor, but I think he can do a great job at playing an evil genius. If he lowers his voice (if at all possible) to sound a bit more imposing and a bit less neurotic, I can see it becoming a great performance. Maybe even as memorable as Ledger's Joker. But that all depends on the characterdevelopment in the script as well of course. And that's the Achilles'heel of this movie IMO.

A friend sent this to me, and I couldn't help but laugh.

Michael Cera just has a face you want to punch.

(Not that he can help it or anything...)

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

Yeah, WORLDWIDE. It made $116 in the US, barely beating *Daredevil.* :lol

For a tentpole superhero summer release it was barely viewed by anyone. It's entire run was what, the first day and a half of Avengers' gross?

I get that, but even $116 million isn't a shabby grab at the box office. One has to wonder if we'd be getting a sequel if WB hadn't crammed all the past attempts' development costs into the budget. That's what killed it.

True. WB *could* have created a memorable franchise which would gotten people to revisit/give a chance to the original but as usual they were their own worst enemy when it came to creating a cultural imprint with further characters of the brand.
