Krank looks like a Classics figure. Cubex looks like an almost MP figure, IMO.

I was thinking the same thing, the coloring choice make him look like you could have just plucked him out of the latest Generations releases at WalMart. He looks flimsy too, very disappointing. More toyish, less collectible.

Just discovered the transformer thread here, great!
That shockwave looks great! Still deciding if i should get MP soundwave or not..

My own fav is a non MP tho, Unicron looks just too awesome

Should have taken the picture after dusting him off :p

Soundwave was a character I never paid much attention to as a kid, as he was really relegated to a handful of episodes of the cartoon, where he mostly just chatted a bit with Megatron. Considering that, and the fact that he's not an official product, I'm not motivated to buy him. But if I had more than a small, passing interest in the character I would no doubt buy the existing figure.

Since Takara and Hasbro have both put him out in MP form, don't know how much more official you're going to get. :lol

I got Whirl today and he's pretty good, I'll do a pic with my other Wreckers once I've applied the Autobot logos that come with it.

MakeToys have announced that their IDW Swerve will come in a 2-pack with Gears,

They're also making Swerve's unique weapon from IDW's More Than Meets The Eye,

I didn't get past the first TPB of that series as I felt it was lacking in action, the art was ropey and it felt like the writer was trying way too hard to inject humor into almost every scene most of which fell flat. I expected better from the guy who wrote "Last Stand of the Wreckers".

MTMTE got ALOT better 10 or so issues in. Whenever the "shadowplay" story arch started. about 2 books before that.

did some checking. From about issue6 onward, there was a massive increase in quality.

Gotta get swerve.. also, Generations Arcee and Chromia are FINALY getting released. we should see them at toyfair.

Here you go. I had the day off today and decided to clean my office.

In the nicest possible way...please go away, I think I hate you :wink1:J/K :1-1:

That is simply stunning, thanks for sharing the pics.
An utterly amazing collection & I am very very jealous.

I'm loving the He-man Statues & that new 52 JL picture above your desk is stunning, can I ask where you got it from??

Congratulations again on the outstanding collection.

Neil

Thank you Neil. My wife got the JL poster at Comic Con. There were only a few given away. To my surprise, she framed it and gave it to me on my birthday. Never knew she had it until months later.

You're welcome buddy that's honestly a stunning setup...even the PC setup makes me drool ;)

Very nice surprise from the missus, she has good taste :)
I really really like that.

I know it's off topic but I have to ask...was there ever a He-Man statue to go with the Skeletor piece?
I'm amazed at how big he looks & I think he looks amazing.
I love He-man as a kid but never got back into it as an adult collector & missed the boat on the figures (some are ridiculous now) but the odd one or 2 might be nice to have, but those statues would be awesome to have.

I got my second package in as many days from Kapow Toys today and as expected it contained Cubex Huffer :yess:

The first impression I had upon removing it from the packaging is that it's noticeably lighter in weight than official Masterpieces partially due to the size but I think Cubex have also been smart because if the truck cab was too heavy it'd create major balancing issues for robot mode.

Some people will automatically equate "lightweight" to being "cheap" but it really isn't the case and the plastic quality feels fine.

There are however a number of thin panels and small tabs that have to be treated with care when moving them but if you use caution and don't try and force things into place you'll be fine.

Truck mode is the G1 design with slightly tweaked proportions and enough detailing added to make it displayable with the more realistic Autobot cars.

On mine the trailer hitch for MP10's trailer is tricky to tab into it's correct position which may not be the case on all of them but the tabs are tiny so be careful.

Like MP10's truck cab it's not quite as realistic as the cars but it's more than adequate and you can fit the various Spike and Sparkplug figures that have been made in the cab as well which is a nice bonus if you have them.

Transformation is so good that I don't think Takara could do any better. There's a couple of bits where patience is required as the parts take a bit of encouragement to get moving ( but not too much 'cos of the thin panels ) and tabbing the shoulders into place is slightly scary but overall it's comparable to the Autobot cars in terms of difficulty.

My favorite touch are the headlights which revolve round which remind me of the license plate on 007's Aston Martin.

According to the manual Huffer's animation model never had visible headlights so it's a fun addition that can add to the cartoon accuracy.

Robot mode is also on a par with any official Masterpiece, the only minor niggle is that a couple of the leg panels have pegs that're a tad short and they sometimes pop out when you repose the legs but they do stay in for the most part.

There's a decent range of articulation and the joints on mine are all fine aside from the elbows being a bit stiff but better that than too loose.

Cubex score major points for painting the eyes on both facesculpts with a metallic paint, it looks great when the light catches it.

I haven't swapped the facesculpts or the hands yet but that looks like it'll be easy enough.

The packaging is very nice and the instruction manual has lots of clear photos and some nice character information & artwork.

QC on mine is great, a couple of minor issues but nothing that I've not had on official MP's.

Takara will have to do something extremely special to make a better Masterpiece Minibot.

I will be buying a second one to keep in truck mode.
