Are there any factors in making the shield flake? Ex dust, heat exposure etc, or do you think it's a given this flaking gonna happen. I keep mine stored in the box for fear that this will happen. I've seen the pics posted by other members

Apparently they all flake regardless, at least that's what everyone's been experiencing. People have said it flaked in the box, mine lasted a good year or so before it started flaking just a little bit, the stories have varied I think. I had one sitting in the box for a long while and luckily it hasn't started flaking, so I quickly spray a coat over it. In my opinion, it looks better or more accurate with the spray since it dulls down the shine so it looks more like the shield on screen.

I was annoyed while packing this guy for a move to find the threads that hold the metal clasps on his belt had come loose, so now his belt is barely hanging on. :( I don't know if I should just glue it at this point? Anyone have a good fabric glue they can recommend?

I'm beginning to think it may have to do with the handling of the shield. I rarely touch mine and it's not had any flaking issues.

I was reposing Cap tonight. Guess I got a little carried away, raising his leg, and snapped it right off at the hip! :thud: I can't believe it. Any alternate bodies out there that are compatible with the figure? On the bright side I can now get his leg up high enough to do the captain morgan-esque pose i was originally going for. :slap

There are loads of bodies you can use to replace the original. Are you sure the leg didn't just pop out of jount? Have you removed the trews?

Oh yeah, I'm sure. The joint is snapped and the leg just flops around. As far as bodies go, I'm wondering if a more muscled body would fit under the suit? I always thought he was a little too skinny. I'm going to assume no,t though, and that I'll need a body of comparable size.

That body is actually quite tight in there. If you get a cheaper smaller body, the suit still holds it's shape, but the body is freer to move and get better poses.
I have a $22 bootleg in my spare Avengers Cap figure(I have the HT in my Cap shelf, and a HT suit/boots/hands/etc on a bootleg standing with the Avengers.
I puffed out his chest with wadded tissue taped on in layers, but the bootleg is more poseable than the normal HT one.

Sounds cool. I'll do some digging around for bodies. Thanks for the help! :wave
