Re: Sideshow Spider-Man Comiquette

I would hop on him soon m8... The price is sky rocketing

I have to admit, and I know they just did another Comiquette, but with all the revisiting they've done in the last year no new Spidey PF. I mean I know there were three 1/4 coms and 1 PF but it's not like they aren't fond of doing multiples of characters that sell.

Re: Sideshow Spider-Man Comiquette

i think i've exceeded the weight on each of my pax shelves but, because i'm paranoid i have 4 brackets on each shelf and braced the middle of the shelf I may put a rod in the middle to to prevent strain on the brackets or putting larger brackets. . The biggest concern you'd be having is the shelf itself in the middle "warping". Weight management of each statue and placement of each statue is the key.

Hell, there is a guy with hulk pf and the thing! i call bs on that 44lbs lol

Well, I have the narrower unit. Somehow, the wide and narrow PAX units have the same shelf load capacity, even though the shelf span is quite a bit different. This tells me that the weak point is the brackets.

I put in two extra metal brackets on each side this afternoon. I'm pretty comfortable with all three (spidey, venom, carnage) on there now.

I hope one day I can get this piece

Me too! The one that got away!

Very true Josh. There will be an Amazing Spider-Man 2 PF we now know for sure. Many say the new movie costume is close enough to the comic costume for them, so that might be an alternative. Hopefully it turns out great, I surely want it.

To any Spider-Man fan the movie costume is clearly different, but the design is very nice. We don't know the pose or base, and I'm not saying the ASM2 PF will be a better statue than the Comiquette (my favorite statue of my favorite character, hard to top in my mind), but just looking at the costume alone, because of its detail, has potential to look cooler than the comic costume in 1/4. The textured darker blue, the shiny black eye and web lines over the bright red...lots of potential.

But despite any amount of cool, it's still Andrew Garfield, not the true comic Peter Parker. With the comic 1/5 comiquette and then the movie 1/4, it probably will be a long time before another comic 1/4 Spidey hits if that's what anybody really wants.

Re: Sideshow Spider-Man Comiquette

Is this more sought after compare to the Spidey PF?

good question Asdf, I've also wondered the same thing. The Comiquette has certainly become more desirable over the past year or so...however, with the PF, it still fetches quite a high price on the secondary market and those PF variants like the Negative Zone Spidey PF just go for silly $$$$

I have no love for the PF, personally don't see any aspect why it's price went up

I would think the main reasons why the PF has a high price is relatively low ES (the two variants have ES of only 75 a piece!) and just the fact that it's Spider-Man.

I know I would not pay the going rates for the PF...I have this comiquette, the BiB comiquette, and the upcoming JSC commiquette on PO, so my Spidey collection is doing alright. I will probably order the upcoming SPidey 2 PF as well (as long as it doesn't look like garbage)...nice interpretation of the classic comic suit (I personally like the subtle changes).

I feel the same way. I have the original Com and BiB Spidey. That is more than enough for me. Hell, with the DC license SSC acquired, I may even be forced to sell the BiB Spidey because of space reasons. That would hurt because it is such an awesome piece. However, if I'm forced into having only one SSC Spidey, the original Com would be the only choice for me.

Re: Sideshow Spider-Man Comiquette

Personally I like the comm better than the pf. Imo

Re: Sideshow Spider-Man Comiquette

The PF facesculpt is a bit better than COm from the youtube i saw. Got ears and nose. But overall its spidey, so its win win
