You can say that again. NECA 18-inch figures suffer the most from our corrupt Customs Department, each costing about $150 here compared to $80 in the US.

Our prices though are still better compared to my friends who live in California who pay a lot on top of the SSC SRP.

Simply beautiful!!!!

Those prices you guys are getting for the full set are looking good. Under $600 for 3 full figures and a diorama is surprising.

U are correct! Under 600 or rather 575 ish would be great. The set looks awesome.... And i would like it to be around 600 with cali tax ( i know thats a far cry)...

SSC always inflates the prices, except for that weird incident with ED-209.

I don't know if inflating is the right word; marked up would be more appropriate.

Hot toys is the importer for the United States, therefore they pay hot toys a very large sum of money in order to be the official importer. tape eight to have the product shipped from Hong Kong and China to them, they also have costs associated with running the website, paying their people and other general costs of doing business.

Therefore, it is to be expected that they will mark up the products in order to make a profit for the company.

Inflating the prices seems infer that they are unethically raising prices to screw the consumer.

Much like charging $15 for a gallon of gas during a disaster.

From what I've been able to tell, sideshow collectibles' markup is fairly reasonable.

It's also entertaining to see people complain about hot toys prices.

As if hot toys is trying to screw them out of their money; trying to cheat them out of their money.

It is simply a business transaction and much like someone who pays a premium price for a brand-new Mercedes, it's about quality and what the consumer is willing to pay for that quality.

Would it be great if hot toys prices were 50% less across-the-board? Of course it would. It would also be great if I could get a brand-new Mercedes for the price of a Honda Civic.

Complaining about the price of a luxury item is simply ridiculous.

It's simply a matter of economic decision; to purchase a luxury item, other items may have to be forgone in order for one to afford it.

^^^^ i think our friend above is a bit confused. So let me ask him if he would buy the same set "without complains" for 3500 usd. All people are saying is there are ways to reduce cost and if the reason for high cost is the near monopoly of sideshow being the official distributor hot toys can explore options.
Also - let's not get all corporate on things, people have the right to complain on cost or product just like they have the right to appreciate. We all must respect both complains and appreciations alike as thats what forums are for. Else we just need a "like" button like Facebook...just my views.

Just visited secret base and saw this set. The material of the Wayne suit is a bit 'rough' and isnt as well tailored as Kato's.

Well, that goes without saying :lol. Too bad to hear it's a lil' rough looking. It looks great in those recent pics. I hope we can get something very close to that

I dug around a little and checked the Blu Ray again and you're right; the suit is definitely charcoal with blue pinstripes. Looks like no one got that right yet but I think HT is way closer to the mark than Kato was... in color that is :lol

Great to hear about Alfred! I'm more pumped about him than anything else in the set!

This is great news for me being a huge Batman fan.

Being new to 1/6 scale, I missed out on all the Nolan Batman figures. Now I can get a Batman, Bruce Wayne and an Alfred...A :censored ALFRED! :yess:

I'm going to PO the three-pack for sure. I'm hoping it'll be priced around $600 anymore and I'll be struggling to pay.
Oooohhhh...how I wish I was in the same situation as you. I can still remember being a newbie to Hot Toys only a year ago, and was so glad I missed out on the DX01 Joker and bought the DX11 Joker 2.0, only to find out there may be a Joker 3.0. I was also glad to have missed out on the DX02 Batman and got the DX12, only for this armoury set to be announced. At least I held off buying the Toys Legend Armoury, just in time.
Well, in less than a years time, you'll be kicking yourself for buying the Batman armoury set, when they announce the version 2.0
Best to give up collecting now!

I think Kato just copied the colors on the medicom Bruce Wayne outfit. It looks the same to me. :dunno

For someone who already has a DX 12, I don't think this set is worth whatever the asking price (sideshow) is going to be. Luckily I have none of the Nolan batman figures. The only figure I don't want is Bruce Wayne but I can probably use that suit and body for something else. Maybe a luscious fox would've made this better.

I'm not confused at all.

You're right, people have the right to complain about whatever it is they wish. I also have the right to say that such complaining about luxury items is ridiculous.

If you do not wish to pay the money that hot toys and sideshow charge then you also have the right to not purchase hot toys items.

I would not buy the same set for $3500; I also would not complain about that pricing. If that were truly the market value; I simply would not buy it.

I really don't care if the mark up is 100 or even 200% for hot toys; if that is what the market supports, then so be it.

You say we should not get "all corporate" about things; the problem with that statement is that both hot toys and sideshow are corporations. They are for-profit organizations that sell high-end luxury items to people with the expendable income to buy them; they are not charities.

The fact is that most people in the world cannot afford a $250 action figure. In many parts of the world $250 is close to a whole year's income.

So I reiterate; complaining about the price of luxury items is silly.

It seems to me that $650 for three complete figures and a very large dio piece is somewhat of a bargain in the luxury action figure market.

Why do people keep saying they're going to sell their DX12? I understand it's to soften the blow, but the suit that comes with the set is supposed to be displayed in the armory. Without another DX12 you wouldn't be able to display bats by himself.
That's what I initially thought. But it looks like the batsuit can be used as a stand alone figure, which is as good as the DX12.
Please can someone correct me if I'm wrong, because I am also thinking of selling my DX12 before the price plummets.

He's saying that people would want to put a figure inside the armory and that you would need an extra body if you want to use the new cowl and have a Batman standalone figure, so it would be opportune to keep the DX12 for that body. That's probably what I will do to avoid having to buy the body separately or get an additional armory just to sell.

Just speculating, but HT releasing an Alfred with the Bat Armory is making me think that HT releasing a Commissioner Gordon with the Bat Sign is not that far off?

That DOESN'T make sense at all. If Bruce was wearing his bat suit, why would there be another suit inside the armoury?

It's up to how you want to display your figures. You can either have:

1) Keep your DX12 and display it in a pose while the suit from this bundle remains inside the armory.

2) Sell your DX12 and use the suit inside the armory as a Batman figure. However in doing so you can only have either the suit inside the armory or out if it instead of having both at the same time.

I for one will probably keep my DX12 and pose it another shelf with the DX11 while this bundle is displayed together. The armory seems kinda odd to me without the suit inside of it. It's just up to how you want to display everything.

I completely agree!... All i am saying is how can people not have a right to say if its expensive or no. I dont see anyone can request, command or ask people to not complain. I think some of the complains help things to be in check... Sooner or later people will walk out from atrocious pricing (some point in time) i think hot toys is still figuring that threshold. Like you rightly said its not easy for most to spend 250, there are people spending 1200 on customs so somewhere hot toys will have to balance their pricing and to be honest so far they are selling good amount of numbers. So... We must understand that people will complain as they can may be afford it but dont want to spend that much but will stretch and do it anyway?

People complain of gas bills but do fill the cars up, complain of health care but do go to a doctor. And like you rightly said this hobby while is "luxury" somehow is an addiction ;) ...

Lastly - just cause one can afford does not mean they shld just let their pockets out. One can always feel the heartache while spending these $$ and express the same? All people are saying is why the mark up. For me personally i am not even aware about the mark up so i dont really care. I buy 2 figures a month, but i still feel its expensive as hell as i am on to the point where i am tired of sacrificing other indulgence in life..
