Me too!
I suppose it's the price you pay for quality, lol.
If i decide to get the head scanned, i will let everyone here know, because once it's scanned, all you pay for are the printouts.

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

One thing is sure, Hot Toys does Superman well, both figures are stunning. :clap:clap:clap
The size is a bit odd but I kind of like having Superman tower over other characters.
He is SUPERMAN after all.

It's a rare headsculpt that can be sat on the TTM20 and make that body look small...

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

MOS head suits the size of that body much better from those pics. Rescue cap looks a bit pin headed

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

You know what i think happened?
They sculpted the Cavill head, and it was too small. They had it on a body that was too bloated for the proto and, before developing the body, they made the head bigger. But then they developed the body based on a head that was closer to 1/5 than 1/6.
I have seen this happen with old-school hand made model kit master patterns. One of the first parts made is slightly out of scale and they roll with it till eventually the entire thing is too bog, or too small.
I reckon it will just be this one figure that's slightly out.

I actually hope ALL figures of the MoS line will be this much out of scale, including the new batman. Otherwise this figure won't look good with ANYTHING on the shelf :/

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

I love the HT Cavil sculpt but I hope Head Plays sculpt is regular size so it could be switched out if you're putting MOS with other sculpts. That alone will reduce the size difference.

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

We need more pics of this guy fighting some DC/Marvel heroes.

It definitely will. His scale is perfect with jor el and zod.

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

Someone posted a pic with MoS head on a DX12 a few pages back. It looks ridiculous, but you get this vibe that Kryptonians are generally larger/taller than h.sapiens.

Reckon Affleck's Batman will be made in scale with the MoS line?

Edit: has anyone tried measuring Kal El? I suspect HT is now trying to make 1/6 figures based on the actual measurements of the character. Previously their figures have been of the same height (based on strictly 1/6 of 180 cm tall or 30 cm), right?

Great pics!
I can't imagine what gadget Batman would employ to get free. Except cutting the cape loose of course!

I think *you* might win the prize here...
It's 33cm high, which would be 198cm of 6'5"...
It would appear that they have made Superman TRUE 1/6, and as you have pointed out, almost all other figures have merely been 12" figures, regardless of their height.
It makes a lot of sense.
But you seem to have said it first.
I for one would welcome all future figures being actual 1/6. But it would make displaying them with older figures a bit problematic.
And it was me that posted the pic of the Cavill head on the DX12.

SHOWDOWN!!!

Great pics. I can imagine the Reeve/Cavill fight right now.
Reeve grabs Cavill and flies him up into the outer atmosphere then punches him down so hard that Cavill goes through the crust, into the core and out the planet on the other side, where Reeve is already waiting, punches him *again*, and the same thing happens.
The next time out, as Reeve is pulling his arm back for another punch, Cavill hits him, and punches Reeve through the moon.
It's quite an exciting thing to imagine. Taking it away from Earth so no-one gets hurt, they both head out, playing a game of cat and mouse in the asteroid field, and finally landing on Mars to duke it out, rearranging the entire landscape with the battle.
I can see it unfolding right now(And this is the reason the Hulk can never be a match for Superman).

Was under the impression that they started doing that with the Avengers line

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

I wonder if the S emblem can be taken off. From this picture it looks like it can. I hope someone here can make a custom S emblem that's a tad bigger and positioned more upwards to get it to be more movie accurate cuz that's my only gripe on this figure. I can look past the height and the puffy cape, but the stock S emblem just seems so undersized

Anyone know any customizers who may be up to doing this? I think it will be a very popular mod if done right and if the process of taking off the stock emblem and replacing it isn't too much of a hassle.
