Re: Saruman the White

I got Frodo cheap a few months back after years of thinking he was awful aswell, didn't pre order cos there was no ex and I thought the likeness was off and the price for the size of the statue was a rip off... but I have to say in person it's pretty good. He definitely loses something in photos.

As cheap as you can pick him up now for I was going to get one also and see how it looked in hand.

Re: Saruman the White

This will be my first direct order from SS since 2007. Just picked up a Gandalf the Grey EX PF for $380 to go with him.

I got him to balance out the heroes / villains side of my collection. Hope you get him and like him - I think he's underrated now 6 years later :monkey4

This will most likely be one of the 12 days of Sideshow x-mas .. I doubt any changes to the beard were made. Hoping it's not too bad... WW PF just showed.. It's coming and hoping for the best

I hope it is something new from the HOBBIT. Don't they HAVE TO present something in 2014 if they want to keep the license?

Maybe? But at this point I really could care less if Sideshow never does any ME piece

They do not ever IMHO have to touch those scales. Ever

I think they do, or maybe some larger maquettes of the bigger creatures at smaller scale. The current weta linup except for a few are just too small for me to care about. I like to enjoy my figures from anywhere in the room, not just right up against the display case.

I have to agree with this. Weta's stuff is beyond awesome in 1:6 and it's been that way since the SSW days. They don't have to do bigger scales to show they can handle their own in Middle-earth.

No they don't. I am happy with the size And quality and am not a 1/4 scale nut like some

Re: Saruman the White

Why do people state "yes or no" as if it's some solid fact? Some people want larger scale, some don't. Neither OPINION is right or wrong. It's personal taste for what YOU want and that's fine, but someone else isn't wrong because they like something different.

As personal preference goes yes anything goes but as to what a company does in regards to sizes. No one has a right to say anything. Unless quality is an issue and Weta has none. That's like someone telling me my grass should be cut at 2 inches high instead of 3 because a neighbor likes it that way. No

The point being is that Weta doesn't have to make pieces in those sizes to be great. They're already great and do great things.
