I was asking that question because Boba Fett doesn't come with a removable helmet, which I'm ok with it since I'm a fan of the OT, and in my mind Fett doesn't have a face However, I wouldn't mind a DV with removable helmet

Probably not. I'd prefer a swappable head. The helmet sculpt will suffer if it has to fit over another head and then there's the issue of paint rubbing. That's why a change out head is a better idea. Now here's the question. Will he have eyebrows or not? This is aimed at the adult collectors in mind. A lot of adults are stodgy OT purists. I want my Sebastian Shaw head to have fricken eyebrows.

Maybe an extra head sculpt might be better, although I really like the idea of being able to take the helmet off As far as the eyebrows...never though about that Why wouldn't Vader have eyebrows? I remember he had them in Return of the Jedi. I haven't seen the newer versions with all the cgi crap...I'm guessing Lucas waxed them off? ... If that's the case, then I'm sure every DV figure will not come with the eyebrows, in fact, now that I think about it, I don't think the sideshow 12 inch Vader comes with the eyebrows either...interesting.

Yeah, I wasn't mixing how it happened, I just took it to mean, a reveal one way or the other, helmet, swap out heads, LSD packet included which makes you think the head is changing, etc... its all good.
Since they're already doing switch out heads, I'm sure this would be the way to go.

And yes, I think Fett with helmet off is inconsequential compared to a Vader reveal. Vader, Han and Luke as Stormies, theres a few I'd like to see with switch out heads, but I don't want to see the enigmatic Fett. Bad enough seeing him so much as a scruffy nerf herding kid so much thanks to the PT and Clone wars.

Saw this online and thought it was worth sharing.

A neat use for Han's gunbelt although it's not screen accurate. I think this paired up with the future Jedi Luke head and green lightsaber would make for a unique EU Luke bash. Alternatively, swapping out the head for a generic 6" figure head from another line (like a Bruce Wayne or Harvey Dent from Mattel's Movie Master line) and repainting the helmet would give you a generic Rebel Pilot.

I'm gonna buy exactly what I find worth having and therefore spending the money on it. No more, no less.

Can't wait for Chewie, ESB Vader and Jedi Luke. Really hope we'll get a good Phantom Menace Obi-Wan and Emperor Palpatine sometime too. Think those are my top five wants from the films now.

My point with stoking this particular fire, is that we are "early in" with this line, so we have a great opportunity to not underestimate our "leanings" from our experiences being Star Wars action figure collectors, and "collectors" in general.

If you're notably interested enough in this line to be posting in this thread regularly and you're NOT buying the full line-up (OR if you're OT-centric, then at least buying all the OT figures), then there's a good chance you'll be playing "catch up" down the line (no pun intended).

So, I'm just lendin' a helping hand by going on about it

I'm not entirely sure what you're responding to, but I can tell you I'm not gonna play catch up. My remark was a response so to someone saying (s)he'd buy two of each to support the line. That's fine, but I'm not going to. I have no need for it, and personally I don't think it'll make any significant difference in a mass produced line's sales numbers.

Either way, I'm gonna buy the characters (who's version) I'd love having and that's it. Nothing more, nothing less. I can guarantee you that won't be the entire line, probably not even half of it. I just don't care for general completionism, not one bit. I judge every purchase based on how much I like the individual piece. In fact I prefer to keep it small as it renders that much more attention to whatever I do buy. I don't give a flying jar jar about most smaller star wars characters (be it OT or PT), that level of fandom of the films has waned for me. I just wanna have the imo coolest versions of the main characters and an odd side character here and there that sticks out. more isn't worth the money for me personally. Granted, half of my more recent interest in Star Wars comes from Bioware's EU as I've become a big fan of the way they blend the OT and PT's style as well as the characters they've introduced. And yes, I'm between 20 and 30 years old, I'm sure that does account for something (or everything, depending on how agist one is).

There's an overall vibe with a lot of the posts here where the criticisms for this line range from "reasonable" to "outrageous".

I see posts from many, many people that echo toy collecting scenarios that both you and I have been through in the past. These are posts from a group of people that we all know that this line was made for in the first place.---They are us!

If you feel you got the "guessing game" on your future under control at this point, then cool, man. It took me YEARS to get to the decent place I'm at... knowing my own toy collecting habits/leanings. But I'm not too good to realize that things change. I could lose my house... win the lottery... or just change my mind on stuff... ya know?

I'm here just theorizing on buying and collecting habits... it comes from experience, and IN my humble experience, I think it's a healthy AND advantageous thing to discuss... it can't hurt, right?

Got wave 2 from BBTS. I wasn't going to get all of them but didn't feel like going store-to-store looking for Boba and Han wasting gas so I bought a case. And I'm glad I did because Greedo is awesome and Leia is pretty good overall. Really liking this series. I originally passed on X-Wing Luke and R2 but I may buy them too because they make a nice little display.

I do. There's only been one instance where I had to painfully go back and that was SHF DBZ SSJ Vegeta (yes, lot of abbreviations), which has skyrocketed to obscure prices. The thing that keeps my collecting habit in check, and makes my wallet maintainable, is that I really dislike large collections. It takes away from every individual piece for me. I'm impressed by the rooms of stuff people have, but it's not my thing, it becomes a massive pile of stuff to me. I collect out of nostalgia or tribute to things I love and I flourish my bookshelves and walls with them, but I do tend to want to keep it as basic as possible. I almost didn't buy Boba, but felt he was too iconic to pass up. But no trooper army building for me. With my Sandies, Maul, Han and Boba, I'll be happy if I get Vader, Jedi Luke, Emperor, Yoda, Chewie and episode 1 Obi. I might actually not buy a single figure more than those. I just don't care anymore like I used to as a kid haha. I'd definitely buy any Bioware EU characters they make, but I don't expect those.

The only thing I would love to collect massively (pun intended) is Mass Effect characters, but sadly, that VG franchise isn't big enough to warrant a dedicated line.

Just recently did a run to TRU Target and Walmart and only saw the Lukes and R2's on the pegs. Atleast the stock is somewhat low enough that when they do get series 2 they can put them out.

And, just as Murphy's Law dictates, it's only when you empty your last cent on commissioning a custom of a piece (or pieces plural) that a company decides to release an official version! "Gah!" indeed!

Speaking of "irony"--- I try to keep my display toys down to a minimum as well. I used to scrath my head at those collector's who still got every last variant (still do)... but with this Black Series line (and the MOTUC line too), I've realized that I love the figures and their possible "self-variants" (a variant you can make just by owning the same item and by switching out weapons, or heads, or other items) so much that I can't resist buying multiples of the SAME figure... not even "literal" variants (as in re-packaged reduxs of the same figs)!

Army building? I'm not THAT bad. Just a few extra Sandtroopers or Horde Troopers. Nothing crazy... yet

As far as Star Wars 6 inch scale Black Series... and my OWN advice as if I was reading my OWN posts on this matter? I'd probably reply that so far I've bought multiples of every BS figure released. However, as the line winds on, it's very possible that I might get tired of buying any of the figures outside of the Original Trilogy. Looking at my two displayed Mauls, though, I'm pretty impressed by the nicely sculpted and articulated and accessorized Sith. And, I can't see myself ever wanting to ditch HIM But Anakin? Obi Wan? Down the line? Who knows Alec Guinness forever! Ewan maybe not so much

I've recently been SLAUGHTERED trying to catch up with gaps in both the MOTUC line as well as the Palisades Muppets line. Thank god I'm not the "completest" type in the strictest sense (especially in the Muppets line where I find variants HIGHLY undesirable).

Completist or not, playing "catch-up collecting" within a line is a hassle, so that's why this topic has been so prevalent on my mind lately.

When I saw your and Nitsu's recent posts, I wasn't sure what the context of the posts were, so even if they weren't addressed to something I had previously said, I still thought it'd be fun to chime in with my usual "Hey, make sure you don't want to buy these!" type posts. It's all outta being the fun of being the "toy-geek angel on your shoulder" (or the DEVIL on your shoulder, if that's how it is!). And, it all meant in fun.... and exploration of the "collecting" thing.

This mindset is ALSO what got me to join this site in the first place. I wanted to buddy up with the passionate about this line. I don't have many figure collecting friends in my local area (that I know of, anyway).

I'll wrap it up for now, but would love to comment on the idea of keeping a sleek collection (especially with the SWBS line) in the future! I'd also love to see your toys on display some time Silrian!

I do kinda dislike my collectibles being reffered to as 'toys'. (Even though they technically are.) I only buy stuff that comes close to statue-esque quality, but just has the added benefit I can change things up once in a while.

I play with these. They're toys. I also display them and collect them. So they're collectibles. Collectible toys. Embrace them for what they are. These aren't some HT figures you put behind a glass case and kill anyone who tries to pick it up. These can endure some play from a responsible child who takes care of his toys. And they also hold up to me posing and reposing them after taking them out of the package.

That said, I'm not letting any of the children who visit my house play with these. That's what the bin of PotF2 figures are for

Sideshow and hot toys still make toys. They're expensive toys, but at the end of the day, they're still just Dolls.
