Great shots Rory!

Do yo think its feasible to swap the medi and HT eyes out with each other?

No, not really. Their curvature and shape would have to match exactly. There isn't much scale difference but they are quite different. I think modded HT eyes would be the way to go.

This is the other pose that I wanted to attempt

(The first being the image from the box art)

I'm thinking that this pose may break it though, unless I only move it at the elbows, which is still a ridiculous thing to have to say

but anyway, reckon this is possible?

Got my extra head yesterday but still have yet to receive my figure from SS. I'll be attempting the empty mask mod later today.

Please excuse the egg pan in the background. I was using the stove light at midnight to see cause everyone was asleep.

The knee's and thighs/legs are the real issue in getting that pose. And the shoulder hunch.

I hate being in work when there's a figure at home

heck, I hate being in work full stop but that just adds to it

can't wait to see your pics, if your signature is anything to go by then I reckon they'll be great

Thanks, the shots in my sig are some of my favourites.

Yeah, it's annoying when a figure arrives at home and you can't open it straight away!

Not long now though. But I'll listening to Mayo & Kermode Film Reviews on 5 Live, so that'll help the afternoon go faster.

So I think all the *****ing about this figure has gone far enough. It's a beautiful Spiderman. I'd hate to think that people are gonna cancel this because of the **** that's been posted on here. So here are a few pics. The suit is a work of art, the eye have grown on me, and the body, well there's the body... It's delicate sure, you need to understand the joints and be respectful of them when posing. IMO this is the best 1/6th Spiderman we have seen (or will for a while, given HT's scheduling). Hate the suit, or love the suit. This is Spiderman, IMO.

How unfortunate. Do you happen to have pics of the medi eyes removed? Wondering how the medi HS looks without the eyes.

Thanks man, you won't be disappointed. Anyone thinking of taking the mask off. It's a lot harder than it looks. When you do get it off it's fine, it holds it's shape perfectly, but those eyes are pretty solidly attached. They are in two pieces. Glass and surround (which actually is transparent blue by the way). I almost broke mine getting them off.

I think I may go and buy this film today

I already had the blu-ray and lent it out but the guy never gave it back and claimed to no longer recollect where he put it... hmmmm...

This went on for a while so I went to his film shelf and took Gangs of New York on blu-ray and still shrink wrapped

now it may not have been a fair trade but I looked cool as a cucumber when I casually left his house with it

Great work as always Rory!

Any tips for removing the eyes? Heat, scalpel etc...

Also why do the surrounds look black if they are blue?

The rims on the eyes are dark transparent blue. When you hold them up to the light you can see through them. HT just made them too dark I guess.
The lens are stuck in with double sided tape and come out easily. But they are sculpted on the back with the dots, so doing a straight MEDI style fix is not an option.

Getting them off: The difference between these and the old Spidey eyes is that the edges on these are pretty thin and will break if wedged with too much force. One of mine popped off pretty easily the other was hell. I have special precise sculpting tools in my office and even with these it was tricky. But as with all HT things it probably depends on the amount of crazy/super glue they have used on your head, some may pop off more easily. The mask itself is easy to get off, just a spot of glue under the chin. I'm going to thin the eyes before fixing them back on the mask permanently. The good news is that the actual mask fabric holds it's shape and looks pretty much perfect once you get it off.

Hey Rory, can I ask what jacket you are using for that custom?

I don't remember. Got it over a year ago, I was trying to help someone find one via PM a few weeks ago and he did. I need to check my PM's to see who it was.
Edit: Just had a look on ebay, I don't see them anymore the HT GI Joe Colton one looks good though? Probably better even.

Thanks, I already found one similar to yours, but judging by the pics, yours looks a little better.

Nothing yet. Always impatient when a new figure is about to be shipped.

Great work as always Rory. Thanks for sharing the tips.

Your welcome mate, with your custom experience, I doubt you will have any problems, but do watch out for the eyes chipping/breaking. The rims are "clear" plastic as well which is more brittle.

Hey Rory. Nice work brother. You beat me to it.

Did you heat up the head prior? I tried prying the lenses off last night and they didn't budge. Worried about snapping them off then I'll be SOL.
