Statue ARH Conan W/Slave Girl and 8FT Snake

Talk about some insufferable pages of reading, I think there must be some people trying to turn coal into diamonds with how tightly they are clenching. My first reaction to seeing the few pics was to think about buying this! Even with bad photos it completely obliterates the other Conan pieces from SS.

Those pics don't help in selling the dio. I'm sure it'll look better with proper angles and lighting. The girl though...yikes. There's nothing fluid about her at all and that head has got to go. It is not possible to chain down a snake just fyi.

I see only one that it can compete with and it doesn't involve a Beast or Red Sonja. This one is aimed straight for the kilt, my friend.

As much details and emphasis should be put into her as there is in Conan and the Snake. I don't want to compare but I have too.
The Prize has a greatly detailed Conan with great anatomy, but the princess also has just as much detail.
Fury of the Beast has great Conan detail but the beast looks amazing.
Rage of the Undying has tremendous detail. The pose seems a little wonky to me but as far as it goes, you don't get any better with the sculpt.

This sculpt here is very good. But the details of Conan aren't as great as the others. The Snake is great but not as menacing as I hoped. What makes this piece great is the storytelling. But the thing wrong with that is Conan is going for the death blow but everything else says the battle just begun. And the girl has very little detail. It's a great prototype and idea but all the pieces have to be on the same page.

Sorry, I will rag that girl on Conan The Prize until the cows come home. That is an UGGGGGGLLLYYYY heffa, let me tell ya. Just not a fan of Conan The Prize in the least. This blows that out the water as if a Volcano just erupted near the surface.

This should have been the pose for SS FoTB dio. Instead, the ape is wearing Conan as a cape, all hidden in the back.

alex first impression is everything when it comes to those statues, you are killing your biggest release before it's even out the door. Should never showed those photos even though i really appreciate you giving us a look early.

Please take some professional photos and post asap, i know you know how to take stunning photos per your for sale thread.

My impression of this piece ignoring the camera flash overexposures - great sculpt but bad paint job that lacks detail and natural look (especially the skin colors). Everyone is complaining about the girl - it's not the sculpt but the way it's painted, her entire body is just a monotone spray of the skin color which made it look really flat with no depth and simple. Her face with the heavy handed bright makeup, is the same carelessness that destroyed the viking girl and vamp queen - both great sculpt as well.

The same issue was said on some of arh's recent releases - vamp queen, viking lady, etc.. was hoping arh would hire some good painters this time around, their root is sculpt not paint. The earlier piece - thor/leonidas/cleo etc.. were all painted much better, not sure if they switched artist or what after that. You really need better painters....

hoping to be surprised at nycc in person, the sculpt of this piece really does look amazing! It would be sick to see what it can look like in the hands of some top painters like silent surfer, joe dunaway or small studios etc..

Don't bulk Conan up he's not supposed to be super bulky.

He's a theif, he's quick, he's an athlete, remember the agility of a panther....i don't want to see him roided up.

You got Conan right imo and the pose is fine. Still would like to see the Bowl cut hair though, and please make sure he has blue eyes.

Yeah I think Conan is looking spot on here anatomy and face wise. Wouldn't want him changed at all. Paint apps can always be changed, but I think the sculpt and pose for Conan are excellent. I like the hair too I feel like it makes Conan come more to life since there is so much energy in all aspects of his sculpt. This kind of dynamic is exactly what I think we need to see more in statues.

As for the snake I'm not sure where people are coming from. Some of the serpents in the novels sound like monsters and then others just sound like giant snakes. This one looks to me like a giant snake. Imagine being in their position it would be terrifying not to mention its true size is much larger than those pictures let off. If anything what I like is how much like an actual snake it looks. It doesn't have some weird dragon qualities and such.

The concept is amazing but the execution is lacking a bit. Slave girl is super awkward looking. Her head needs to be completely cut off and redone. The face is rough (like ten beers rough) and the hair is chunky. The way her body curves is off. She looks like she just took a pregnancy test with positive results.. Baby Conan bump? The snake and Conan look pretty sweet though. Will have to see the final product and paint to make a decision. I like where ARH is going with this but it needs a little help

Yeah Averone, forget Sideshow pics. You take way better pics. Redo that head and you take pictures on your own and send them to us in this thread. You're like the king of pic taken here and you posted those camera shots. Never again sir
