I am 43 and I don't feel any different than when I was 23... maybe its because mentally I stayed at 23. :)

Completely fulfill your potential? How would you even know? No, 30 is an official grownup number and for those too cool for school its a death sentence. The more you build up these fantasies of wealth and status in your mind without ever being honest with yourself, the more you're gonna hate getting older lol. Hope you haven't built that house on sand, party people!

You just blew my ****ing mind :(

Look, maybe I came off a bit harsh. I was kinda bummed turning 29 cause I knew 30 was right around the corner. :lol 31 is much better!

I understand why it sucks getting pushed into another decade on a couple of levels. There's wanting kids, mortgages, career goals, but being worried about imminent death isn't really what 30 is all about.

What I think is important to remember is how many unrealistic expectations we can put on ourselves almost unconsciously. When we're young, year 30 is one of those moments where you have to be open to readjusting your outlook. It might be the first time alot of people have to drop certain dreams like breaking into professional sports or becoming a beauty queen, but really it's a great moment to gain some solid wisdom and perspective on what life is really about.

Your body might have long hit its peak in your 20s, but the mind can keep growing long after that. Keep adding knowledge, you've barely begun!

As others have said, you needn't be worrying about it. I haven't accomplished **** in my life and I'm passing through a similar phase and depression but I've never felt this way. Agreed that there are times when I take a moment and say to myself, ''Damn. I completed XX years of my life already....when did that happen?'' and I regret certain decisions but never felt bad about my age.

Mind you I felt the same at 25. I think it has more to do with life progress than physical age. At 25 I didn't have my s **t together and felt as though I should have.

I'm glad you guys had rebuttals to RIDDICK's statement because at 31 I haven't done $h!t with my life. I've bought and accumulated stuff - that's literally it. I was rather alarmed by what he said. :lol

This is exactly how i see it. I don't feel old and i don't feel too bad about my age. I feel fine,

But Sometimes society and the people around me will make me feel self conscious and they will make me feel bad.

people my age or younger married, with kids. people that own houses already, people that are doing all this things.... makes me feel like if this was some kind of race and i was left behind.

It is not so much about the number of years you have been alive, but your accomplishments.
And pretty much how you live your life. Whether you enjoy your life or not.

What a-dev said, pretty much goes for me as well. I haven't really done much. (I mean, besides the obvious, school, work, etc) Sometimes I do feel like a social failure because I have not done as much as other people. Feels like I wasted my time.

that's pretty much to where it comes down to. How much time do you waste on useless things or how you use your time, do you use it wisely or not?

i have the Asian gene so I still look 20-something even though Im 32. Age was never an issue for me.

This is another thing, if you look young people tend to react differently.
the way you look or dress will make people threat you a certain way.

^i think i traded mine for something else. even lost my virginity in the process.

come to think of it... i forgot which one i traded. was it youth or virginity?

How does your bum feel?

If it hurts, congratulations! You still have your youth!!!

Same. I'm 27 and still get asked for my ID at Gamestop. Last year, I purchased an M-rated game and the manager asked for my license. I was a bit baffled, and I asked her, "what the hell, how old do I look??". She replied, "Sixteen..... ish?" :rotfl :(

I try my best to keep a light beard or at least an afternoon shadow now.
