Lots of these sculpts always look way better in person anyway. It looks good. Im sure in hand youll all be real happy

The only issue with likeness I see is that his cheeks are a little wide. I am a little put off by the sculpt because I actually think this character should have the neutral expression...suits him better. For the record, I never complained about neutral expressions lol. I've been debating whether to get this and I thought he would look cool posed holding the helmet but I don't think this expression works well like that. We'll see!

I admire that they had the cajones to do something so expressive, but, with a character like Zod, this seems like it'd be a better fit for an alternate sculpt (I.e. screaming Leonidas). However, if they are, in fact, making a "skinsuit" Zod, perhaps he'll have a more neutral expression. That being said, I think there are different levels of expressiveness, in that a sculpt can exhibit Zod's anger and contempt in a subtler way than to have him screaming; that does not, necessarily, make it "neutral."

im glad the head sculpt looks a bit different than actual actor...cause the actor does not have a kryptonian face anyway lol, the HT sculpt makes his jaw line bigger and better

isn't his helmet part of his suit? folds back into neck armour

i guess i don't really see the problem with the head sculpt some of ya'll are having with it. to me, it looks pretty dang impressive. to me, i feel you guys expect them to have literally a mirror exact copy of the person but only in 1/6 form. that's technically impossible to make anything exact of a real person's face. this is prob the best you can do, and it shows, cause it looks amazing! just to even get that, takes so much talent and effort. this is absolutely a get for me.

I am ok with more expressive sculpts, but if they are going to do them, they should totally nail it...and I just don't feel like they have with this one. It's as username (and others) have correctly said, it is a great idea, commendable for the effort.

But lacking in the actual execution. And this is one of Lee So Yung's sculpts? This is a big surprise as she is usually brilliant and one of HT most consistent artists when it comes to heads. Didn't she do Jackson, Blade, Coulson, Bane and Loki's sculpts. And they are mostly considered utterly top-notch.

Still, I will PO this when it goes live, as we are in it for the long haul when it comes to Superman, Batman and Spiderman. I'm thinking that it will be tweaked on the way to order and that it will look better anyway in hand than in macro-focus.

This figure is incredible looking. The head sculpt could use some tweaking to better capture Michael Shannon's likeness. Not that I could do any better at this scale.

For me, Hot Toys seems to have trouble capturing the eyes for certain figures. Too squinty imo. Also the excessive lines along the mouth makes this look like an alternate Hulk sculpt. :lol

Likeness looks a little off. I like how they went with a super intense pissed off expression.

If I thought that this would be the only version of ZOD then I would be a bit concerned about the sculpt, but I believe a final battle version is necessary

Part of the mask folds away, part is created using the parts of the mask that fold away. You see this when he pulls it apart after going through the petrol station in MOS. It kind of fades away like a hologram.

I was actually hoping the armour could be removable. It makes sense if they make a final battle version with a neutral sculpt to pump the sales up for that version :wink1:

I think the head sculpt is fine but Shannon has exotropia (walleyes) and the HT sculpt doesn't show that.
In other words, I wonder if moving one eyeball slightly would fix the whole thing.

Really really off character. Wipe the smirk off and it's gold. Close the mouth as well and it's perfection.

It's alread up for PO in my country. My regular seller didn't even know about it when I called him:lol.

All we can do is pray for them to alter the HS a little.
