wrong! if the funds come from a paypal debit card or checking account. there is NO charge to send a gift. the sender also has the option to pay the fee if he pays with a credit card or bank debit card, or make the receiver pay. didn't you read the information and the link i posted? :slap

so in your world just because the buyer paid the fees is on video buying the items in front of witnesses paid through his mobile phone all info matched even in his own email to me which including the email was forwarded to payapl that he bought the items from me and said he was not opening the claim i should have the charge back against me for $1750.00 plus loose all the items, and now have to to through a nightmare just to get basic info to file charges-----yes you are right----get real-------i am sure you are one of those that blame the one that gets raped not the raper..............................this is for the ones that have a bit more sense and understand the issue in hand------------
NO ONE SHOULD GET SCREWED. simple...................by anyone or any company----------------PERIOD-----but i know we do not live in a perfect world......

in my world? it seemed you were confused as to how paypal works and i spent my time to attempt to educate you. my mistake. :dunno

same thing on ebay get blackmailed for partial refund or deal with negative feedbacks---------never will i ever deal with paypal or ebay-------------done.............
also the concern here not to paypal as gift was the protect the buyer, but it seems it is the seller that needs protection...............

I try not to let the threat of a negative get to me.
I'm still 100% positive with 1700 feedbacks but I know a bad one will come some day...

And your right... it's Seller beware not buyer beware.
I'm glad I am almost done selling polystone and moving to selling stuff that can't break in shipping.

The Buyer normally has all the rights. I have no worries buying anything, the most I'll be out is the cost of return shipping.. could be a lot but better than getting stuck with junk.

I always wonder what an unauthorized purchase even means to paypal.

What do they think, your account got hacked when you say this?

confused about what, this guy made a fraud claim....it is that simple----what the hell does the fees have to do with this-----
whats the education you are trying to teach here?????
i will take this scumbag to court , i can and will subpoena his cell phones location for that date i know it will take a lot of time and that is ok------what is more amazing is that i wanted all freaks to know as sellers that they Have to be very careful in selling and give them the info-----freaks like you have to twist this to make your self feel EDUCATED WHEN YOU JUST DO NOT EVEN HAVE A BASIC COMMON SENSE.....
the main reason we are told not to send funds here as gift is/was to protect the buyer-----Not THE SELLER------- and the truth is the buyer is protected----the seller is not-
THE BUYER REGARDLESS OF HOW THE PAYMENT WAS SENT GIFT/PERSONAL/REGULAR CAN DO THIS IT DOES NOT MATTER.----BUT I AM SURE YOU WILL TWIST THIS TOWARDS ME ONE WAY OR ANOTHER.........:cuckoo::slap:lecture

:exactly::goodpost:
This guy used his cell phone/his paypal/his credit card/on camera/3 witness/email from him saying he bought the items did not open claim and paypal has all this info and still gave him the $$$$$$
how the hell can he claim this was UNAUTHORIZED is beyond me.
I FEEL I AM IN A TWILIGHT ZONE EP.

if you knew what you were doing, you wouldn't have left yourself open to fraud. you should have done a CASH deal if it was done live. that concludes the lesson i spoke of.

yes, we get you screwed up. but you're the one that posted about it. i tried to help...you treated me like crap. i won't make that mistake again with you. :lecture

Getting payment or paying someone else via gift should truly only be done when you trust the person a crap ton. So, to just do a gift transaction with some random person is not a good idea.

However, you being screwed out of your money is still unfair, and unwarranted.

funny thread. why would you do paypal when meeting them in person? For $$ that equal a used car I'd ask for a cashier's check and do the deal in a public area so I wouldn't be jumped and robbed. I don't trust these people. :lol

Just browsing, Sorry to hear about this MOJO, I had a similar incident happen with a member here, I sold him a Hot Toys Fig and there was a slight defect (a light not working) I told him I would replace it just send it back to me and Id send him a new one (standard practice with almost any kind of sale) he got pissy and filed a claim, I figured go for it you sent payment as a gift how could you claim against that? the problem for me was I made the idiotic decision to be honest and actually ship the damn thing, paypal said "its not a gift as he received a product in exchange, so its a transaction"... ****ing bull**** on PP part, I had even stated to him before the sale to send payment for goods and services, he went ahead with gift payment and I had those messages too, still nothing. They were gunna make him ship the whole thing back as he would have had to had a specialist appraise it and contact them to verify it was actually broken (and that would have been a huge headache for him)

Anyways gift payments seem to no longer be a work around, which is fine I guess. And to the idiots in this thread saying that Paypal gets no fees for gift payments... youre simply wrong, they get the fees from the person sending the gift

thanks brother for that---and sorry to hear that--strange that members here just did not understand what i was trying to warn them off , i mean the whole reason we are told as buyers here not to send funds as gift is because we are not protected as buyers.....but the truth of the matter is that it is the seller who is not protected the buyer is-----either way i was able to fix my problem had to be very skillful to do it but 15 years in the insurance field helped me out.....members here like you and so many others have been good/kind to me so i wanted to share this with all of you who have ears that listen , the rest of em and paypal can kiss my entire you know what-------------------------again this was not about who pays the fees----house always get paid------
