You had three Nolan films and are about to get yet another reboot of the Batman franchise. PLUS Batman is taking over the MoS franchise. The least, the very least I expect from people like you is a graceful acceptance of the fact that YES, it is true: Batman IS the only character WB/DC cares about. Everyone knew it, and now here is yet more proof.

If you did not like MoS, you have plenty of batman stuff that you DO like, with more on the way. Batman Forever, indeed! Now let us have our one lonely little Superman movie that we like, 'k? Geez.

Word to your mother.

I loved Man of Steel. I've been waiting for a serious non-campy version of Superman for years. It's a shame he's getting pushed aside for Batman.

The awesome costume designs alone are worth getting these figures for imo.

That is crazy to think they set up the whole Daily Planet/Clark Kent thing at the end of MoS, but now it's going to be a full blown Batman vs. Superman flick.

They probably won't be spending too much time on that concept while they're fleshing out and developing the rivalry between Superman and Batman. I can see why fans would be peeved.

Indeed. The filmmakers involved were clearly not setting up a Batman/Superman movie at all. They were setting up to continue Clark/Superman's story. The closest thing to any hint of Batman/Superman teaming up was the Wayne satellite in space, but that was nothing more then just a little easter egg Snyder put there as an acknowledgement to Nolan's work with Batman. Hell, Goyer didn't even know about it until Snyder pointed it out to him. Also, look back at any of the interviews during the promotion of MOS from Snyder, Goyer or Cavill when they're asked about a World's Finest film or Justice League. They all said they hoped that stuff would be further down the road and that Superman needed to be established more in another solo film. WB has hi-jacked this franchise to just try and make a quick buck. There has been no thought or care put into it in the slightest.

It was bad enough WB hi-jacked the franchise in the very beginning as this series of films was supposed to be just like Nolan's Bat film where no other heroes exist, but at least at that point there was the hope with Nolan involved with Superman to some degree WB would let them all at least plan everything out and try to do things properly, but that's clearly not happening, here.

:exactly: A sequel inherently leaves much to explore. A sequel doesn't need Batman and yet for some reason WB feels compelled to shoehorn him in one:dunno

For most of my life I've always been more of a Batman guy than a Superman guy. The Nolan films are my personal favorite Batman movies.

That said, I truly loved Man of Steel and how it managed to make a character interesting to me that I never found particularly interesting or compelling before. Therefore, Man of Steel is my favorite rendition of Supes so far in any medium.

The very idea of them sabotaging that so soon has me peeved. I have ZERO desire to see a Superman/Batman film at this point. I'm certain I'm not alone in this.

YES :exactly::goodpost:

Although I do kind of want to see the Superman/Batman movie, but at this point is more morbid curiosity :lol

It's saddening that they won't trust the greatest Superhero. :monkey2

honestly, i think we all just need to be patient. The movie could be so amazing that it will make you forget there was no direct MoS 2. But a bunch of you have already psyched yourselves out of it having a possibly chance of being great.

We no nothing about the movie at all. They could cover a lot of things in 2.5-3hr film. I think just sit back, be patient, and lets see what they come up with.

But this is Freaks, i know. People love to freak out. But your judging something that hasnt even been made. I mean, i just want more DC movies and I want them done well with great stories. I loved MoS. and TDK Trilogy is like my favorite films of all time. i'll trust whatever they have planned and we will see what happens. Those who dont, well, what can you do? I just think its odd you already have them set up as failures when not one second of filming has begun...:dunno

Also, these arent like the last Superman or Batman movies ever going to be made. There will be others in the future with a totally different direction, actors, directors. Some make it sound like this is it. With the money these movies make, WB & Marvel will continue to make them for many many years. I think the 20+ year waits are over.

If the movie is good I'll enjoy it, but there is absolutely nothing to get excited for other then the initial idea of Batman and Superman being on the screen together for the first time, and even that isn't very exciting since it's going to be some new guy that hasn't been established. The whole thing screams of a cash grab on WB's part. And I know they're in the business of making money, but when they start going against what the filmmakers had planned as they obviously have that's when you need to worry.

So Snyder/Goyer/Nolan said they were going to make MoS2 but WB told they can't that they need to make Superman vs Batman? What Blog did you read that from?

All i have ever heard in interviews or read in articles that were direct quotes from Snyder, Goyer and even Cavill is they wants to expand the Universe, and thats exactly what they are doing. He never said they are making a stand alone MoS 2, or go direct into Justice League. In June he said he had not even sat down to talk to WB about whats next. Then SDCC they announced Superman vs. Batman.

Unless you have read other interviews with him saying he wanted to make a stand alone MoS2, if so, send me links :) of some direct quotes. Just not some blog like Batman on Film saying he has sources that have sources that are close to the cousins of certain people.:lol

Um, we didn't have to read that they were planning MoS2 from any blog: it was evident from the script and if nothing else, from the ending of MoS.

[Did we get blog posts making these proclamations that each of the Nolan films would be solo? Of course not.... that was a given.]

We were about to get into the nitty-gritty of Superman developing into an experienced hero, learning and honing his skills when suddenly BOOM! Batman is dragged into the mix. He wasnt even mentioned in MoS, and no I don't view the WE satellite as a foreshadowing, it was a nice little easter egg that you could totally miss if not paying close attention.... but suddenly, BATMAN. Which in no way dovetails with MoS's script, and especially not with the film's ending.

And now it is all about The Batman. You know, I would say Batman gets more than enough screentime, not to mention SOLO PROJECTS but I don't run WB/DC and there you have it.

This is the most upsetting part, it's ridiculous how Batman stole the spotlight, of course Batman-only fans are stoked!

But anyone else who's a fan of everything else (including or not Batman) are getting Batman shoved down their throats. :monkey2

I like Batman, a lot, and even I feel this is way too forced and insulting.

PS: Superman and Batman are both my faves, but Supes wins by a fair chunk.

I'm disappoimted that there will be no (at least yet) stand-alone Superman sequel featuring Supes only..like WB are fearing Supes can't stand alone.

Im pretty sure this film was proof that (atleast in this incarnation) he can't.

.... I wonder if the Bat credit-card is going to do a cameo? One can but hope! Perhaps they will reference to 1960s movie and have him run through a series of waterfront restaurants, holding a bomb over his head. That would rule.

I think they can find a good balance that covers everything Superman related and adding in Bruce Wayne into the mix. Cavill was quoted today talking about the relationship with Lois & Clark will be important. And Snyder/Goyer have talked about definitely addressing issues that happened in MoS will be in the next film.

But i think ill just refrain from talking about the movies from now on. We all have different ideas & views, ill just leave it at that. I love the comic books, the characters, and films. As long as I enjoy it, in the end, thats all that matters. And if i dont, ill live....LoL:lol

Didn't MoS gather 3x more money at the box office than Batman Begins?

And the "Fast and the Furious" films have made more money than both put together. Maybe we should aim for that level of quality.

MOS also has about 2/3 the Rottem Tomatoes score of Batman Begins.

Funny how people only find the critics to be out of touch when a film torn apart that they like. Otherwise its just proof of the film's great quality.
