Absolutely mate, thats why I posted it. :hi5:

No scratches on mine and is all fine. I wouldnt cancel this if i had a small scratch or return. This girl is beautiful and should be picked up. I am sorry for those that have the problem. This will be one of my most favorite part of my collection forever. Please think before you cancel ,this will sell out and go up in price. Also not many are gonna want to ship this beastly box after sold out. You'll be hunting for one near you to pick up to avoid the 2nd hand shipping charge's. I waited 18 months for this baby and have no intention on giving her up ever. So you gotta ask yourself how much do you want this? My guess is a lot considering if your on this page.......Be brave order and you will be super happy you did. I still have my joker smile from day one.......
All good points, but I wouldn't be able to live with this, if it was visibly imperfect?

Got my order in late so I'm sure mine won't ship for several weeks still; I'm wondering now if I should ask Alter Ego to open the box, inspect for scratches, and add a layer of protection between the cocoon and the car before shipping. Could save both me and them a lot of grief.

I am trying real hard to over look the scratches and the depressed passenger side roof, but its super hard to over look when the whole vehicle is super smooth. one of my favorite ways to look at this beast is from the side and those scratches are just staring right back at me.

If your scratches on the canopy i'd see if can just replace that part since it is removeable . I'd see if sideshow can replace the canopy and just display the good side for now. Hope get it sorted Cal sideshow is realy good to its customers with any defects always been able to help me. The one time they offered a credit for my luke dx because holster magnets missing but other then that they always replaced my defected item or part .

the majority of those who have marks/scratches, etc...will need complete replacements of the entire car. Is this something Sideshow are willing to do? Will they begin to prioritise the levels of damage and replace those they feel are unacceptable and then issue out credits to the rest? One thing i do know, is that if Sideshow go down the route of sending out replacements cars then it will hit them hard financially! Watch this space....

I suspect that's what shipping insurance is for - but I imagine they'll have a hard time winning that argument when the issue is clearly with Hot toys inexperience in safely packaging large items - and not the fault of of the shippers.

I love how they sent these out in the biggest box of all time and they still can't be protected properly. The cocoon was a waste of time from day one.

I'd much rather just have the car alone wrapped in loads of packing material. Majority of folk have no use for the shield anyway.

Have you asked them? I may consider doing the same but I'm not sure if they will do that. Josh told me that the moment they get them in, they're shipping them out since they have no storage place to put the stock anywhere.

I'm betting they will be able maybe replace canopy scratches and credits or return the item completley... Then reorder and prey for the best but i realy dont see many more getting defects the box is solid and is fairly heavy so wont be getting thrown around during delivery. Its packed realy damn well not much is getting through. I'd recomend just not using the armor or lining all the inside of it with something soft. I wont use my shield but realy hope we see no more dammage and more celebrating. Hope sideshow and hot toys help's and realize how special this icon is to us ALL...

Given all the issues, I can see why some would prefer just the car without the shield, after all, missing padding in the shield is likely the cause of the scuffs. Plus it increased the total size of the box (although, probably not that significantly). As far as having a "complete" collectible car though, I'm glad they included it. I hated that with the RichMans Toys Batmobile, and the Toynami, and even with the AMT Model kit...once you already spent money on the car, you'd have to mail away/buy the shield separately if you wanted to 'complete' it. Except for the really small Hot Wheels, this is pretty much the first Batmobile that shipped with shields included since the ultra flimsy ToyBiz. Good idea, just unfortunately poorly executed for some of us. The entire inside should have been lined with a large foam piece/microfiber layer. They'd be less likely to forget that piece if it is the only piece to attach there.

With all the gadgets and the shields, this car has almost every feature from the two films that could have realistically been included, so I'm glad it's there. The only glaring "realistic" omission for me is just the pull out turbine engine, which could have been done without interfering with the interior, or the wiring for the lights. The batmissile feature couldn't have been realistically done, so I don't mind that they didn't try.

Oh, I never mentioned it but I was really impressed with the cocoon other than those gouges on my armadillo wheels.

It has a nice weight to it and wasn't nearly as flimsy as I perceived. I really dig it.

But yeah, they should have lined the entire interior with soft foam and maybe even the same protective film for good measure. Injected felt would have been nice too if the armor was a little harder.

HT could've just taken the extra precautions and steps and covered the entire inner shield with soft material and placed plastic covering on the entire car as a double layer of protection.

I would've even paid an extra $50.00 for that extra protection just to avoid what DiFabio is going thru.

THIS is why we are paying increased and excessive prices on items now. They gotta make up lost costs somehow so they just keep increasing their profit margins.
