does the dome look like metal mesh now or i just see what i hope to see?

I actually think a diorama background would be very cool with this guy.

I'm not into the cardboard, fold out backgrounds (like DX 11 Joker or Mime Joker) but a background for ED might be really cool. Especially when I consider the fact that they had a background scene to do all the stop motion effects for him. It'd make it more authentic.

I was thinking the same thing. For the film, a miniature set was built for the staircase scene. For me, that would be a good (and BIG) diorama, showing ED at the top of the stairs with his new improved toes flexed down, and the BD Robocop at the bottom of the lower set of stairs looking up at ED, as Robo prepares to escape through the lower exit.

I *LOVE* that upper left shot of him standing at a bit of an angle. It really conveys the motion of the puppet IMO. I'll definitely have him positioned in a similar stance in my curio.

Yup, looks exactly like the scene of him coming out of the dark in Jones' office. #epic

The proto shots of Robo an ED are excellent. I don't think there was a dud in the whole lot. Whereas I think even the DX13 had some not-so-flattering shots.

I am excited just how the mass produced figures will look like!
If HT manage to have'em look like the prototypes that'ld be awesome.

But perhaps there's still something to improve... but resonance seems to have been really positive until now.

Hot Toys is one of the only companies who production pieces often look even better than their prototypes.

:lecture

The prototype Superman to the in hand figure was night and day. Although you get the occasional figure that doesn't look any different from the prototype but that isn't a bad thing necessarily if they nailed it the first time. DX10 is another example of how much better the final product is.

I guess ED will be my 2nd biggest Hot Toys piece next to my 1:4 Endoskeleton.

His nose in the proto shots was horrendous. The final product was a home run, so glad they changed it.

I always thought the proto was Reeve-esque. I wouldn't say it looked ''nothing'' like him. But yeah the final product was better. Likewise DX10

Reeve was in there, but his eyebrows were off and his nose was too thin. DX10 proto worried me since I thought it was ugly, the in hand headsculpt is the best thus far of Arnie in 1:6 IMO. DX13 clean head looks to improved on his likeness even further.
