But I'm a little excited too!!

Congrats Tam... I am sure you will not regret this... They will get it right. If you don't love it you will still have the Ex standing next to your lovely 1:1...

Does anyone think SS will show the Supes Ex at SDCC this year? And... wouldn't it be a great place to show the Ex if they improved upon the original disliked Ex design? I was looking through old thread postings here and SS teased some beautiful alternate portraits before the spaghetti eyes. How I wish they would give Supes one of those classic original designs for the Ex instead. Here's hoping and we shall see I guess.

Right now I can not see them changing the head persay as the portrait is beautiful, and the EX sold out easily. Now, might they tweak the look of the Ex... Maybe. If they listen we could get a third COH or they could pull a GL and add a light up feature... It is impossible to tell. The one thing to keep in mind is that THIS DESIGN has been part of the process since the beginning. Here is a pic from the first JLA teaser video

Now if they make tweaks and maybe wrap them back around the head to give it a sense of motion I will be thrilled, but if they do that it is because they want to p,ease fans... So we will see.

No way in hell will they display the EX head at SDCC unless they improved it.

They may not display it anyways. Remember Andy B is the lead sculptor and sculpted the Reg head which HAS NOT BEEN publicly displayed yet. The Ex was sculpted by Canale. So unless they have two statues there or decide to show people how it really looks I can't see them displaying the Ex... It would be a slap in the face to Andy B not to display his reworked portrait.

I think the EX in person is going to rock. I do not think the pics tell the story.

Thanks Spidey, I did not remember this photo but you're right--they had that sculpt in mind from the get go. Maybe in hand it will be a stunner. I also remember seeing plain red painted eyes though so who knows. Look forward to seeing this pf regardless and I really hope they won't have many delays like they have with Bats.

There was a giant print up at SDCC last year that had just red eyes, and a head that looked a little bit more Alex Ross inspired that might be what we eventually got just tweaked a bit. In the end it looks awesome to some, and I can see some of the hate is wanning. Let's keep our fingers crossed, and as for the delays ... Well I am hoping to order a new Spidey Combased on JScott's work... So little delays might be good ...lol

I am happy that I have him coming, I was really trying hard to convince myself that I was fine with having the Bat PF EX and no Superman. What the hell was I thinking!

However as glad as I am, I am still 99.9% sure he will be displayed with the regular head at all times! (Although I would be delighted to be wrong!)

Now it's time to settle in for the loooooooooooooong wait!impatient:

Your fate was sealed the moment you jumped on the WL. You knew you would convert and have this choice to make. You made the right decision. In the end, I believe you would have kicked yourself if you missed out on the EX COH. It's always better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it.



Don't beat yourself up over it. Sooner or later, we all break at least one rule we have in this hobby. Hypocrisy4Life!

People did call that there would be a swing in opinion over time similar to the Joker Ex.... Though I have always loved it...lol. Also, yeah the new banner is a whole lot of Superman....lol

Edit: the more I look at the new Banner the more I am reminded just how AWESOME the PF looks
