Have to admit the WETA TWK looks reeeaaaally nice...on the whole I prefer SS stuff but in this case I think they could of picked a better colour scheme.

The SS looks to have a beautiful sculpt,no doubt, but I prefer the paint job on the WETA version,I love how much more "ghostly" it looks.

Doesn't matter anyway...I don't have either :monkey2

honestly, the SS ringwraith and Twiight witchking side by side are my two favorite statues that I own; couldn't stop looking at them when I received them

I just placed an order for the regular Twilight Witch King with Sideshow. OMG, I am going to be praying it arrives safely for the next week LOL.

Does anyone have comparison pictures in situ of the two true form Witch King statues (SSW and Maquette)? I know it's a long shot as it could be considered extravagant to have both but worth a shot methinks.

This representation is missing from my statue collection (I have the bust though) and wonder if the more recent SS statue would be a cheaper alternative.

Cheers,
Dave.

Go back one page. There's a pic of both Witch King statues next to each other.

Thanks for these shots guys, confirms my decision to not buy the new one and pursue the Weta version. Anyone wanting to sell their old, stale, crusty Weta one??

Hmmmm, well in having the SSW version for awhile now, I personally think the newer SS version is a better sculpt, WAY more detailing, plus I prefer the paint scheme on the SS version, the SSW is more grey and voids any real color BUT that does not take away from the over all finished product. If would have missed out on the SS version I would have been upset as it is that good! If it were me I would jump on the SS version and skip the older version and spend the $$$$ on a PF Lurtz or something or other, good luck!

The robes on the maquette are just too cartoony. More detailed maybe, but far more cartoony as with most of the maquettes and the dioramas before then.

My take as well. I sold my wraith maquette last week because it never did anything for me from day 1, too bulky or something. I also think the pose on the Weta version is far superior, again my opinion. And the prices on the old version have come down a lot, hardly a premium vs the new piece anymore.

I love it but my issue is that it was too dark. In the film in true form the Nazgul were much lighter and ghost like

Hey guys, I have a very important question (as I'm waiting for FedEx to arrive).

What is the best way to remove TWK from his styro? I thought I read to have the open hole in the stryo facing a certain direction (either up or down).

So, he finally arrived!

I just got this guy in today, and I'm very, very impressed. The detail is absolutely phenomenal, and I'm so grateful he made it to me completely undamaged.

The one nitpick I have is that I wish the crown spikes were a little more uniform.
