The proto press images look fantastic, that much will never be in dispute. But the mask, by all accounts, looks a lot more screen accurate in those "****ty" pics you mention as well as in this latest image. The bottom of the mask should be pretty much completely horizontal when viewed from the front dead-on.
With respect to barbie-like characteristics, there is absolutely nothing in this latest image nor the previous images that makes the figure any more barbie-like than the press images. Honestly, anyone that truly has this belief knows very little about this figure and about barbie. Sorry.
I don't expect Hot Toys to capture an absolutely perfect likeness because not only is that nearly impossible, they've never done it before with any release. And I may have my doubts that they'll even get an excellent likeness. What I don't doubt however is their ability to pull off an excellent costume and accessories with at the very least a passable likeness, more than likely a very good one - they have an excellent track record for this, despite the nit-picking we see with every release.
