Do you want Kojima to make more MGS games?

There wasn't a fast difference between 2-3. What do you exactly mean by gameplay?

I personally disliked it moving to over the shoulder in MGS4, much the same way i hated it in Resi 4. I would have preferred it the original way.

I think personally that there hasn't been one franchise that has tried to evolve and hasn't inadvertently nailed the coffin shut.

Metal Gear, Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Final Fantasy... the list goes on not to mention if you added movie franchises. I know it's sort of inevitable when your creating one thing for so long, times change and people change. Be happy that you made something great and move on, you don't need to kill everything that was once good

Well, MGS3 was better than MGS2 in many gameplay aspects, MGS2 added a couple elements of realism while MGS3 added an infinite amount of details and depth to the gameplay, also the camera moved better, I always thought the AI was a lot better in MGS3, the controls were better paced....etc etc. It really felt different to me. MGS1 and MGS2 felt like the exact same game in terms of gameplay, I'm not saying this is bad, only that it eventually had to evolve.

I appreciated that they added the over the shoulder camera, even if it had the 1st person, I always though the auto aim while shooting in 3rd person the ultimate noob gimmick.

And in R4 the over the should actually worked really well, it was a necessary step for both games, I think it was the 1st game to try it but I could be wrong.

Well, to me every metal gear game that comes out nails the gameplay for it's respective time, I don't think MGS belongs to your list of games that struggle to find a gameplay "identity" and as usual, for me MGS is faaaar from dead.

In general, I'm pretty anti-franchise when it comes to games, movies, ect. I'd rather have a really solid original game than a sequel any day of the week. It's just a shame something that's hot gets hooked up to the milking machine until it's a dried up husk of its former self. I didn't play gears of war 2 and beyond, stopped caring after Halo 3 enough to continue that series, and have never played a direct Final Fantasy sequel. MGS is really the only exception. I just can't quit you, Snake...

It's clear MGS4 needs to be removed from the franchise and we deserve a different ending.

I really wish they want with the original plan and bought liquid back in the second one. the games would have been different I just don't really care for ocelot he was always a decent side character to me .

I'm right there with you, I stopped playing gears after 2, Halo after 3, AC after 2, etc etc, I'm glad MGS is not going on that mindless franchise milking direction.

"I'm glad MGS is not going on that mindless franchise milking direction."

that really isnt true seeing there have been how many releases of these games on how many systems how many times now? oh yeah theres been numerous "collection" bundles. they also come in various sizes too.

I guess you're right there.

Let me rephrase then, I'm glad they're milking the franchise without degrading it.

I take 30 collections and bundles over a soulless yearly sequels any day, at least they take their time to produce masterful games.

It seems like Kojima cloned the Snake Eater plot line with Boss to Ocelot with Ocelot being the secret hero all along. But he didn't get any sympathy from me, I could careless with the whole fake Liquid role.

^That's a very good observation. Kojima likes to reuse themes from previous games, on the titles that he's currently working on. He usually does a masterful job in doing it, and it's evidenced in MGS 1 and 2 where the plot lines were somewhat similar to MG 2 Solid Snake. But, it didn't work out so well in MGS 4. Turning Ocelot into a good guy was so absurd. So was Big Mama killing herself to help Ocelot keep his cover - that didn't make any sense at all.

Sense.
That was the theme of 4, right? Which didn't have any at the end of the day lol

Just imagine if Kojima made a Batman game... :monkey1

I don't know.... Batman and Robin getting kinky under the bat-cape?...

This is probably the most relevant post i've read. I was pretty young and impressionable when i first played MGS1.

It pretty much set me up with what i was going to like in videogames. I feel kinda thankful i was born when i was, i feel i got into the best games in terms of actual games, no personal preference involved.

MGS, RE, FF were my thing

:lecture Yes to all of this. MGS3 is easily may favorite because of the Cold War setting, but I'll definitely throw it under the bus for having some of the wall moments. MGS1 will always be the game that made me realize what gaming is all about....total fun and immersion in every aspect of the game.

I voted for Kojima to keep the games rolling. If Konami wants to keep making them, and people keep buying them then I'm cool with it. I just really, really NEED the original Metal Gear games remade sometime.

Guys, it was just a joke. I didn't really want you to talk about Batman.

Batman doesn't like jokes.

Well, I was going to say that if Kojima was creating one, it would be the most awesome Batman game of all time.

And that too :lol.

Oh hell no! I love Kojima as much as the next guy, but there's plenty of ways to screw up the Batman mythology at the slightest misstep. Kojima doesn't seem like an American a comic book nerd.

I wish there was some way that I could express my distain for Hideo Kojimas food photos. They're so boring. I go on his Twitter page to see up and coming things that he's doing and I get to watch food. So irrelevant and vain.
