Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

Wow, never saw so many Whiney 10 year olds nit picking the absolute hell out of a movie. What was your favorite movie of 2012 then? Probably Avengers which the plot absolutely SUCKED and people just liked because Downey flew around blowing up some ugly and pointless alien race.

Honestly, as a 22 year old (not a 10 year old) and a MASSIVE fan of The Dark Knight Rises, it had ALOT of issues. Most of which were narrative and story based. Leading people to make a whole lot of leaps of faith as far as most of the frankly messy story telling is concerned. The Avengers plot was far better told and in many aspects of it's story telling, far better written and paced as well.

Really guys its a comic book film, Jesus batman was flying around in the batwing. No matter how realistic Nolan wanted it to be its still a comic book film lol

:exactly:This is precisely what I meant a couple pages back but failed miserably in so doing.

THANK YOU!:lol

Oh not all this trash again. If you've got problems with the film, go find an internet thread that wants to hear it. Keep these threads focused in their purpose - to discuss overpriced action figures.

On that note, where was the best place to get the trail master jacket for this dude?

Not true. Bodybuilders keep eating a lot to maintain their mass even when they reach their goal, otherwise they'll lose muscle.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't bodybuilders primarily interested in appearance and very specific kinds of tasks?

Bane was big, but he wasn't a "bodybuilder" in the professional sense of the term. He was a brutal warrior, and I don't think they have to eat all the time. His muscles weren't his end goal, they were just part of his means.

I don't know. I find it hard to believe that no one would seize this opportunity to try and take him out and usurp him. I mean, have you seen the way he treats his henchmen? :p

Well I think Silasya77 addressed this point the best. Bane's men weren't greedy opportunists, they were true believers and fanatics, willing to throw themselves on their swords for him and his cause. The movie makes this quite clear (though I do wish it explored Bane's "mystique" a bit more).

If I remember correctly, there was a flashback of Bane after he got beat up lying on the ground. Now, I know I can't PROVE that he couldn't stand up, but I believe it's strongly suggested.

lolwut?

He's on the ground after he's had the **** beaten out of him, so that somehow is meant to imply that he can't stand up for the rest of his life?

Seriously?

As for him fighting with a broken mask, that was only with the first tube broken, so it's not like his pain killers were cut off completely yet.

Barring an in-depth explanation of how his device works, I think we're meant to assume that the painkillers are cut off completely once it's broken. (those of us with medical knowledge know there'd be a delay before he felt the effects, as the painkillers would still be present in his bloodstream - but this "instant effect" of medication is a movie trope, so we're supposed to accept that within the rules of Hollywood).

And don't forget about Bruce making a giant flaming Batman symbol on a building to reveal he's returned. So pointless and time consuming.

Ok, I think it's clear you missed the entire point of the movie, and the trilogy in general. Batman is an effective fighter, but what he really does for the city is act as a symbol. An inspiration.

The flaming Bat symbol he creates is meant to galvanize the city - the civilians and the police - to step up and fight for Gotham. No one individual can deal as much damage as Batman could, but together, collectively, they are far more effective than any one man could be. Which makes any time spent on that flaming symbol worth more than anything else he might have done instead.

He talks about this in the first movie and it is brought up throughout each of the three films.

I guess I meant what's the name for it on eBay or whatever site you got it from. :) I've only been able to find the leather ones.

Hey everyone, just opened up Bane and I'm setting him up. Did anyone do any mods to the jacket sleeve in order to fit wrist guard under the coat? I've tried several times, but it really is too tight (I think). Any suggestions would help. Thanks!

I just stuffed it down the sleeve then pulled the rest out with tweezers. I didn't bother attaching the hand to the ball joint though. Hope that helps.

Picked up a headset , i still need to mod it to make it accurate. I can't achieve the correct pose with his hand close to his mouth with the stock Bane body though.
