Is there any news on a 2nd release of masterpiece Sidewipe? I wouldn't think Takara would do 1 release and be done with it right?

There are some issues. we might see more red alert.. not so sure about sideswipe.

Perhaps, but also consider this,

In the overall pecking order Sideswipe & Red Alert are hardly major characters, it's amazing they even got Masterpiece figures at all.

Minor characters don't tend to sell as many units as the likes of Prime and the other heavy hitters so I think it's possible Takara only ever planned one run of each.

That's a shame about the chrome on Soundwave.

I'm hoping the Hasbro one is a little bit more durable than the Takara one. The leg panels on mine cracked after a couple Transfromations (yes I was extremely gentle and folded them around the edges one panel at a time). I sold it and got all of my money back, but decided not to bother picking up another one since the Hasbro one comes will all of the tapes. I'm just not too fond of the yellow eyes.

Finally finished painting my Macross VF 1/48 into a G1 Jetfire. What an utter utter ball ache it was to paint. Not the greatest paint job but it's a background figure so I can live with it.
